MNLF grand meeting to tackle unity and peace in Mindanao

Mainstream Moro National Liberation Front officials spearheaded by the Junior Cadre Officers Corps will gather today, Sept. 6, 2004, for the Grand Unity Meeting to be held at the Garden Orchids Hotel.

The theme of the event is ; “Move forward for Reconciliation, Unity, Progress and Development in Mindanao and its Islands,” which will bring together all MNLF members in taking active role in supporting the reform agenda of President Nonoy Aquino, III and sustaining the gains of the 1996 Peace Agreement .

Jajurie Arasa, Head, MNLF Junir Cadre Officers Corps, Ad Hoc Secretariat said that unity is the key to peace and Development in Mindanao and how to sustain it, is through constant interactions  among its leaders in ensuring the full implementation of the peace accord between GRP-MNLG-OIC and the continuous participation of its members in peace and nation-building.

Getting involve in peace initiatives and supporting the “reform initiatives” of the administration in the maintenance of peace and security, by observing the principles of good governance, transparency,  accountability, public services and economic development can be realized only thru unity, said Arasa.

The MNLF has stuck to its highest core value which are the following; Hulah (Homeland) Bangsa (People) and Agama (Faith) since its struggle in 1970’s and become and active player in the quest for self-governance, self-identity and self-determination and eventually autonomy.

Top leaders from the Central Committee of MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari, Muslimin Sema-faction; Council of 15; Alvarez Isnaji-group and Ustadz Mujahab Hashim and ICC and MNLF Women and Youth and Children coming from Mindanao, Zamboanga peninsula, Sulu, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, Central, Northern and Southern Mindanao and Palawan will also be in attendees.


During the one-day affair, resource persons to include Ustadz  Abdulpatta Radjaie will speak on Purification of body (Paglanu atawa Pagsutsi sin Jasad iban ngawa); Lecture on Importance of Unity and Reconciliation (Kalagguan sin Pagtibuuk iban Nagsusulut-siyuluti) will be shared by Tuhan Abdullahsani Idlasan;  Spacial Messages on Hargah sin Magmaap-maapi  or Importance of Forgiveness   to be delivered by Ustadz Hadjaraji “Guro Bata” Tapsi followed by Suara Pamulansang (Meassages) by all the leaders present.

The junior Cadres has been instrumental in initiating get-together activities through continuous dialogue and and sustained camaraderie among top MNLF leaders in order to preserve the gains of the peace in the Morolandia.

Review on issues and concerns regarding the plight of the Bangsamoro people in the economic, social, security and peace, cultural development as well as discussions on the political realities under the present Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) will also be tackled among the agenda during the dialogue.

The MNLF will likewise discuss the front’s involvement and participation in the forth-coming 2013 political exercises, particularly in the ARMM rgion.

Department of Interior And Local Government (DILG) City Director Mohammad Taha Arakama is urging the different barangays here in Zamboanga City to submit their Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Plan.
