ZCWD talks with village officials on proposed communal faucets

PDFPrintE-mail

The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) conducted a dialogue with the barangay officials for the proposed establishment of a communal faucets at the Crystal Ballroom of the Grand Astoria Hotel on Thursday.

Some 56 barangay officials who could be potential beneficiaries attended the said dialogue together with the ZCWD officials.

“Tiene program tan consider el board to provide potable water to indigents nuway access to our water system," ZCWD Division Manager for Management Service Fernando Ronas Camba said referring to the communal faucets.

Camba explained that the communal faucets will be managed by the barangay and it will pay the bill to the ZCWD.

The communal faucets will be composed of a connection, a box, water meter and the faucet. The faucets will be used by a group in the barangay who are composed of indigents.

The barangay will apply first and the office will have to check if they fit in the qualification, and it will still have to pass technical feasibility study before approval, the official said.

According to Camba, the project may cost around P15,000. However, the said project will still have to pass the board for final approval.

The villages of Tolosa, Lansonez, Guisao, Lumayang, Lumbangan, and Labuan are among those potential beneficiaries in the 56 barangays.

The office will start with one or two barangays and the project may be seen early first quarter of 2013.

ZCWD should first try to improve their services in the barangay specially those that they took over from barangay water system. Precura ya tamen kamo ase otro proyecto pero el ya principia kamo no puede kamo ase buenamente aste buling del agua ta paga el mga hente. Stop expanding first and try to improve or upgrade your system like in Ayala Country Homes, they only have water at night time but fo a couple of hours only. What about the feasibility study that Water District has promised to the people of Ayala as a condition for the barangay to turn-over the system to ZCWD and as stipulated in the MOA signed in the presence of the people of Ayala during fonda celebration. Where is that promise now? Ya saka ustedes con el Ayala Water System LIBRE lang.
