Murders and fire during the weekend

PDFPrintE-mail

eMedia doesn’t rest even on weekends. Anytime when there is an emergency, eMedia personnel don’t hesitate but right away engage regardless of the cost. It is a sacred dedication all mass media folks are committed until to their last drop of blood.

There are three exclusive disturbing news eMedia garnered during the weekend—a dead body was found in a grassy lot in Bungiao, a person was beheaded in Lumbangan, and a fire that razed to the ground more or less 150 houses in Lacasteville, Pasonanca.

First, after a reliable report of murder that reached Baranggay eMedia, Capt. Fred Atilano rushed immediately to cover the news. Fresh and exclusive flash news, a man was found lying lifeless in an empty lot in Bungiao. The said dead body is believed to be a victim of a summary execution.

Bungiao is a peaceful and a sleepy barangay in the outskirts of the City. It is considered to be the fruit basket of Zamboanga and to find a dead body as probably a salvaged victim is unlikely in this tranquil barangay. It caused fear to rural folks while few other locals are reminded again of the terror during the siege last year. But our authorities however continue to affirm the peace stability in our City.

Second, exclusive news again was covered by eMedia of a person who is beheaded in Lumbangan. Accordingly, many parents in homes after they heard the news got irked because the brutal murder has a semblance to beheading executions of innocent journalists and health workers in the Middle East, perpetrated by the infamous ISIS. But again, said beheading in Lumbangan is remote and far from the scenario of a terrorism. Just continue to tune-in to 105.9 News FM for further details.

Third, eMedia reporters ran like sprinters to Pasonanca where a fire was razing in Lacasteville, Pasonanca, consuming more or less 150 houses. The coverage again was an exclusive and first by eMedia. Gino Franco Torres was in the middle of the fire covering the incident for 45 minutes. Unknown to him, the speed of the conflagration was so fast that he never felt that he was already trapped. Thank God though that he was spared. He was able to manoeuvre back to safety. After the coverage, he went home and cried for a second life. His extreme experience is just a one example of eMedia’s dedication to the job.

Some 1,200 individuals were affected by the conflagration. eMedia could not withstand the sight of pitiful families. Thus, eMedia conducted right away a relief distribution to the affected families who are now housed temporarily in Pasonanca Elementary School. Benefactors as regular sponsors to eMedia didn’t hesitate to donate goods. We would like thank Shell Mercedes and Minimart, Welmar Marketing, Nature’s Spring, and other individual private persons and families.

Despite of any ordeal, we have proven that Zamboangueños are naturally kind-hearted. We may fall or stumble, yet because we are resilient, we easily and can immediately stand to show to the world that we are united and strong.

Similar to the Zamboanga attack last year, evil elements and forces are wrong when they think that creating havoc to our relatively peaceful City could quench our ardour. That cannot and will never happen.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!” Psalm 33:12
