TM clubs hold 2nd joint induction


The Zamboanga Toastmasters Club (ZTC) and the Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. - Zamboanga Toastmasters Club (BAVI-ZTC) held their 2nd joint inaugural program recently at the Celebrity Hall 1 of the Grand Astoria Hotel, this City. Their 1st such joint affair was held in the same venue on September 12, 2015.                            That inaugural program was preceded by the 1st Round of Officers’ Training that was  held from  1:00-5:00  PM  in the  same venue.  The pertinent  highlights were as follows:  Acknowledgement  of  the  Guests  and  TMs  –  ACB/CL  Rosafe Condeno,  ZTC  Secretary;   Welcome Remarks  –  ATMB/CL  Ricardo Adjawie,  ZTC President; Introduction of the Resource Speaker – TM Josephine Luna, BAVIZTC VP Education.

The Resource Speaker was the national leader of Philippine Toastmasters, District 75 Director Chin-Chin Barrios-Talaver, who talked about “Creating a Quality Club” and “Leading the Club to Success.”  CC Nancy Balan, outgoing ZTC President, emceed the training session.

Held in the ensuing evening, the joint inaugural program featured the following highlights  :    Acknowledgement of ZTC Guests and TMs as well as BAVIZTC Guests and TMs  –  CTM/CL Rodel Agbulos, ZTC VP Membership; and TM Edelson Bag-id, BAVIZTC VP Membership, respectively;  Welcome Address – TM Emily Sorilla, ZTC

VP  Public Relations;    Discharging  of  the  Outgoing Officers  –  CC/CL Ro  Domingo, District Convention Chairperson;  Valedictory Address  –  CC Nancy Balan, TY 2016-2017  ZTC  President;  Charging of the  New Officers  –  CC/ALB Dominic Wong,  Area 41 Director;  Installation of the New Officers – District 75 Director Chin-Chin Barrios-Talaver;  Inaugural Addresses – TM Mark Rubio, BAVIZTC President; and ATMB/CL Ricardo  Adjawie,  ZTC  President;  Induction of the New ZTC Members  –  CC Rose Diu,  ZTC Past President;   Introduction of the Keynote Speaker  –  TM Josephine Luna, BAVIZTC  VP  Education;  Keynote Speech  –  District 75 Director Chin-Chin Talaver; Closing  Remarks  and  Prayer  –  ACB/CL Rosafe Condeno.

The inducted new ZTC members were Lily Espina, Eliza Tolentino, Teresita Catalbas, Bryant Labastida, Benjie Barredo, and Luis Pichel.

For her effective club leadership, CC Nancy Balan, outgoing ZTC  President, was awarded with a  PLAQUE OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE  by her own club.  TM Teresita  Catalbas of the ZTC and TM Arianne Torrefranca, Treasurer of the BAVIZTC, were the program emcees.

Thus, the ZTC officers for 2017-2018 are the following:   President  –  ATMB/CL Ricardo Adjawie;  VP Education – CC Nancy Balan;  VP Membership – CTM/CL Rodel

Agbulos; VP Public Relations – TM Emily Sorilla; Secretary – ACB/CL Rosafe Condeno; Treasurer – TM Eliza Tolentino;  CC Elpidio Malasig – Sergeant at Arms.

Their BAVIZTC counterparts are the following:  President – TM Mark Rubio; VP Education  –  TM Josephine Luna;  VP Membership – TM Edelson Bag-id;  VP Public

Relations –  TM Janice Ga-a;   Secretary –  TM Cyprose Jane Bunsua;  Treasurer – TM Arianne Torrefranca; Sergeant at Arms – TM Michel Love Vilos.

For the resounding success of the 18th ZTC and 3rd BAVIZTC inaugural program, all the Toastmasters concerned have expressed their profound gratitude to CTM/CL

Police searching for armed man for mauling

A resident of Barangay Mampang, Zamboanga City, is now being hunted by personnel of Police Station 6 for mauling and totting his gun at another person on Sunday. Police report shows that a certain Omar Barahama y Mandura, 30, married, of Gaganaocruz Drive, Mampang filed a complaint at the police station against Elmer Bazan y Ramos, of legal age, married, of Fermina Drive, Mampang.
