LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded him…” (1 John 2:11, the Holy Bible).
REMINDERS FOR SENATOR-JUDGES: As our senators acting as judges in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona prepare to cast their historic votes and decide whether Corona will be ousted or not, it would be wise for each one of them to remember that whatever their vote will be, will reverberate in eternity to be judged by God, and will affect even their children’s children.
“Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil,” say Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 of the Bible.
If any senator will vote according to what is right and just, and in obedience to what God commands everyone to do---that is, listen to Him and obey His commands, as Deuteronomy 28:1 and 2 also says, and as Matthew 22:39 says, love your brother as you love yourself---he will be “exalted among the nations” and would be “given all God’s blessings”.
VOTING ACCORDING TO WHAT OTHERS SAY: If, on the other hand, anyone of them will vote according to what is dictated by others, and their votes will be motivated by personal greed and ambition without regard for what is right and just, contrary to what God says, death and destruction await them and their descendants to the fourth generation (Deuteronomy 28:15-68 and Exodus 20:5).
“However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all His commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you… until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin,” Deuteronomy 28:15 and 20 jointly warn.
“… for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me…” Exodus 20:5 says. And even if they will later say they voted pursuant to what God told them to do, they will be rebuffed by Matthew 7:21 and by 1 John 2:4 which, among others, say, anyone who says he knows God and yet does not obey Him is a liar who will be thrown in hell.
GOD CANNOT BE MOCKED: God cannot be mocked, of course! Because He is the Creator of all men, He knows their hearts and their desires, as well as their ambition and their plans. God knows that while men profess to follow and have faith in Him, all their intendment is evil.
That is why God says, “Not everyone who says to me `Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven…” (Matthew 7:21) and “The man who says, `I know him,’ but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:4). All liars, according to Revelation 21:8, will be thrown in the lake of burning sulfur to suffer for eternity.
Even now, God has already shown his displeasure among some of the actors in the impeachment trial. Their dreams and aspirations have already been blocked, and even their associates and partners are being rebuffed. There is more misfortune, coming from God, awaiting them.
