LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land…” (2 Chronicles 7:14, the Holy Bible).
NATIONAL PRAYER FOR SENATOR-JUDGES: I agree---and I believe everyone who sincerely have faith in God will also agree---with President Aquino’s speech during the 2012 Global Day of Prayer in Greenhills, San Juan, last Saturday, May 27, 2012, that prayer is important for national unity and progress, and, in fact, even for justly and truthfully resolving the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
This is the reason why I am publicly calling on all believers of God---whether Christians or Muslims or from any other religious denomination across the country, whether pro or anti-Corona---to fervently pray non-stop in the next several hours, to ask God to guide and compel the senator-judges to be truthful, just, and righteous in casting their votes, for or against, the Chief Justice.
We often hear people say “prayer can move mountains”, and this has been proven true in many, many instances. Indeed, the prayer of a righteous man is both powerful and effective, as James 5:16 of the Holy Bible says. In James 5:13, anyone who is in trouble is directed to pray.
“PRAY CONTINUALLY”: Philippians 4:6 tells us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God…” In Colossians 4:2: “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,” says 1 Peter 3:12. In Matthew 21:22, it is said: “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Romans 12:12: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Ephesians 6:18: “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17: “… pray continually…”1 Timothy 2:8
“Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing…”
PRAYERS FOR RIGHTEOUS SENATORS: Why do we have to pray for God’s guidance and His hand in the forthcoming decision of the Senate in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Corona? Because if God is not going to guide the Senate and take a direct hand in whatever decision it will issue, whether for or against, that decision will surely create more problems for all Filipinos.
The Bible is quite clear on this: if we do not get guidance and direction from God in whatever we think, say or do, we will most likely disobey His commands. This will bring curses upon all of us, which would cause our nation’s destruction and perdition. We only have to read Deuteronomy 28:15-68 of the Bible to understand this truth.
We must pray that our senator-judges will aspire for righteousness in putting an end to the impeachment trial for, indeed, only a righteous decision will be accepted, first by God, and second, by the Filipino people. As the Bible says in its Proverbs 14:34: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.”
