Murder, divorce and God’s wrath

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…`So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,’ says the Lord Almighty…” (Malachi 3:5, the Holy Bible).

WRATH OF GOD FOR CHURCH MURDERER: I address this to the man who mercilessly and brutally shot to death Lorna Barlan Monday afternoon, July 2, 2012, in front of the St. Joseph Church in Quezon City, after she refused to let go of her bag which the killer was trying to snatch away: you and your children to the fourth generation will now surely go to the lake of eternal fire and worms for your never-ending punishment.

This fate of yours and of your children has been sealed by Revelation 21:8, Isaiah 66:24, and Exodus 20:5 of the Bible. Of course, you may say you don’t believe the Bible, and so you need not be afraid now. Whatever, let me print here what these three passages are saying, for whatever they maybe worth to you, your family, and to all other persons like you.

Revelation 21:8: “But… the murderers---they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur…” Isaiah 66:24: “And they will go out and look on… those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched…” Exodus 20:5: “… `for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me’…”

SOMETHING ODD IN THE KILLING: Indeed, what could have possibly prompted Lorna’s killers to shoot her pointblank, in the presence of so many people yet on a very busy churchyard, on a highly populated area such as Aurora Blvd., Quezon City, right across a big school?

Was Lorna shot by her killer, who had a companion waiting for him on a motorcycle whose engine continued to run at the other side of the street, because she put up a fight over her bag? How much was in the bag that she refused to give it to her killer? And what kind of a need was the man trying to answer when he decided to take away Lorna’s bag and to fire at her repeatedly when she tried to hold on to it?

Come to think of it, the man and his companion could not have been simply after the bag. I mean, they were evidently men of some means, having a motorcycle and firearms to boot so that they didn’t need any measly money from a hapless old woman who obviously wasn’t well-off, and who was merely waiting for a public transport. Perhaps, the investigators could shed some light to this.

GOD HATES DIVORCES, THE BIBLE SAYS: God hates divorce or the separation of husbands and wives. He says, in Malachi 2:16 of the Holy Bible: “…`I hate divorce,’ says the Lord God of Israel, `and I hate a man’s covering himself with violence as well as with his garment,’ says the Lord Almighty…” Why? He says: “Has not the Lord made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring…”

This is the reason why God no longer pays attention nor accepts the offerings of a man who divorces his wife. In Malachi 2:14, it is said: “You ask, `Why?’ It is because the Lord is acting as the witness between you and the wife of your youth, because you have broken faith with her, through she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.”

Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, gave only one justification for a man divorcing his wife. He said in Matthew 5:31: “It has been said, `Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress…”
