God knows and calls us by our names

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…`Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father’...” ( Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, in John 14:12, the Holy Bible).

GOD KNOWS AND CALLS US BY OUR NAMES: There is something in John 10:3 of the Holy Bible that arouses my interest every time I read it. A portion of this verse reads: “… He calls his own sheep by name…” Isn’t it wonderful to know that Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, call us, His sheep, by our own, individual, names?

Many a time, we are made to feel that we are just a very small and insignificant part of the world we live in. Particularly, in our places of work, we are given an employee number, and it is on the basis of this number that our work is measured. Then, we are given our respective Social Security Systen number and our taxes are even paid under a tax identification number.

Because of this, we get the feeling that we are not important as a unique person, and that the only thing really important is our number in society. If this is what you are feeling, that is what the devil wants you to feel exactly. He wants us to think and believe that we are not important before God.

WE ARE GOD’S VALUABLE CREATIONS: In reality, however, we are highly valued by God. To Him, we are not simply a matter of numbers. God in fact knows our names, and He calls us by our names, as John 10:3 of the Bible is telling us.

God knows each and everyone of us. He knows exactly what we are going through, He knows our status in life, and, what is more important, He knows what we need for our everyday living.

And because we are His children, He loves us ever so dearly, and the greatest proof of this is that, He has given us His forgiveness, His wellness, His victory and His good life, when He gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.

A HOPE AND A FUTURE: To show His great love for all of us, He will do exactly what He did for the Samaritan woman, whom He visited even when she lived far away (see John 4:4, the Holy Bible). This woman faced very great problems because she already had five husbands and the man she was living with was not even married to her. But Jesus went to visit her, so He could forgive her sins.

Jesus took His time out to forgive the sinning woman, and I am sure He is also doing that for us now. He knows us, He knows our name. He knows our needs, and He came to this world so that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10).

We must endeavor to remember this truth all the time. Always, we must never forget that God knows us, and it is His plan to give us success and prosperity all our lives, that His plan is to prosper and not to harm us, to give us hope and a future. Thank God in the name of Jesus!!!
