THE WORD: “THEY WERE DRINKING, MARRYING, PLANNING, BUILDING AND DOING ALL THEIR OTHER THINGS, CASUALLY, AND THEY KNEW IT NOT.
AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH, SO SHALL IT BE ALSO IN THE 2ND COMING OF THE SON OF MAN.”
TFZ Commander Army Col. Andrelino Colina was highly commended by the city’s Sangguniang Panlungsod for his exemplary role in bravery & courage during the bloody crisis that gripped ZC for almost a month long last Sept.
While Colina was cited, police S/Supt. Chiquito Malayo, as former ZCPO Officer-In-Charge(OIC), was ‘arbitrarily’ meted a sanction, instead.
Malayo was poised to receive the highest award for valor & gallantry from the PNP hierarchy when it suddenly went pfft!
To make it brief, as most in mi ciudad de Zamboanga knew the Malayo story, the good police colonel’s supposed heroic exploit to convince a group of MNLF-Misuari fighters to lay down their arms and surrender amid the heavy fighting, merely went to naught.
Malayo was yanked out from such post on the day he was about to observe his natal day on Oct. 2.
Malayo, however, has still the blessings of the PNP echelon as he’s back as PRO9 Intelligence Chief, the designation he had prior to being ZCPO OIC.
Malayo’s supposed disgrace on
the issue, came about when news broke out that he was taken hostage by a group of the disgruntled MNLF-Misuari infiltrators who were reportedly bitter over the current GRP-MILF peace negotiation.
They have been saying they’re the legitimate Muslim rebels’ group that truly represents the Bangsa moro people’s struggle for the return of their ancestral homeland in Mindanao.
DIST. 1 Councilor Rodolfo Bayot, however, unleashed his tirades, vehemently opposing the council’s move to honor the TFZ head, stressing (in the vernacular): “Trabaho se di-ila, porke man kta man commend pa kanila? (That’s part of their work, why commend them?)
IF we aren’t fast enough in addressing the serious unsanitary condition that’s now prowling in most evacuation centers—specifically at the JFE sports complex, including its grandstand, and along the stretch of RT Lim Blvd.,(God forbids!) there’s a propensity of an outbreak in an epidemic of great proportion.
NO less than my good friend CHO head Dr. Rodel Agbulos had expressed earlier of such a threat if its filthiness will persist in those evacuation camps.
No lang era, cay pobre gayot kta este’ aki na aton mi ciudad de Zamboanga.
“Buyak Simbaku! Pencing,” ya tene miedo c Bogs.
“Kien man hinde’ nervia Jun,” c Ador tamen ya umenta.
“C ansina, debe lang mobe di-aton mga lideres de pronto, y hinde’ dol de banjing banjing lang kita tamira kanila lli. Hinde’ man todo,” c Nado tamen ya umenta.
Estos gat tres, ta pega ya tamen ila paca bocachon.
“Hutu tamen se Jun. Wake-up call ese cunel diaton mga lideres ki,” c Al tamen ya pega suyu.
Can’t stop you guys. It’s all your rights to comment, criticize and even ostracize leaders who show nothing but their being an onion skin—easily piqued for nothing.
