Preparing well for Supertyphoon Yolanda

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19, the Holy Bible).

PREPARING WELL FOR SUPERTYPHOON YOLANDA: Once more, the Philippines is launching frantic preparations for the projected arrival of supertyphoon Yolanda (international name, Haiyan), what with its reported peak intensity of 241 kilometers per hour. But, I am raising this question once again: is there really anything we can do to effectively stop the typhoon, or avoid its destructive effects at the very least?

Maybe nothing, if we talk about stopping Yolanda’s coming. But if we talk about avoiding its destructive effects, there is something we can do, and this remedy had been given to us 2,000 or so years ago yet. We must understand that all of us have been told, in a prediction, that destructive and deadly rains are sure to come, and death and destruction will be suffered by many.

The same prediction told us that if we want to avoid this death and destruction from the coming rains, we must endeavor to become “wise”. How do we become wise? By listening to the Word of God and obeying His commands. If you care about yourself and your family, then, start reading the Bible, start meditating on it, and start truthfully obeying it. God may yet spare our country from this new wrath.

RAINS, FLOODS AND WINDS, ALL OVER AGAIN: The prediction about the coming deadly and destructive rains (and floods and strong winds) was made by Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, in Matthew7:24-27 of the Bible. Read these verses for your own understanding. Read them now, while there is still time. Read them so you, too, can see the connection between the rains, floods and winds, and the Word of God.

Now, you may ask: was the statement of Jesus that rains, floods and strong winds will be coming to this planet and cause death and destruction of many a mere prediction? Or, did He really see or know that these calamities would be coming, and so He was issuing a completely accurate warning for all of us? Or, is it just a coincidence that these rains, floods and winds are happening now?

For me, Jesus knew, because He is God. And since we have already tried all possible human preparations against the devastating effects of these natural calamities but failed to address them, it is time to try God’s remedy, as prescribed by Jesus Christ. We will stand to lose nothing if we do try it now. But I am sure that something from heaven will come upon us and protect us from harm if we comply. Try it now!

WORDS OF POWER TO LIVE BY:Here are some power Bible verses for believers: Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 28:20, which assure us that “God is with us”; John 3:16, which confirms that “God dearly loves us”; Romans 8:14 and 1 John 4:4, which bestow on us the guidance and protection of the Holy Spirit, a Spirit that is greater than the spirit in the world; and Philippians 4:13, which gives us the power to do all things, through Jesus. Make these verses part of your daily spiritual exercises.

SUFFERINGS OF OFWs ALSO PREDICTED: For, even the sufferings that overseas Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia underwent during the last few days have been the subject of a Biblical prediction. In Deuteronomy 28:15 and 32, the Bible warned those who no longer listen to Him and who no longer obey Him: “Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand.”

NO HELP FROM POLITICIANS OF ANY COLOR: In fact, even the inability of the administration and the opposition in this country to really help the sufferings of our people (because both will be engaged in corruption) was predicted to happen, also in Deuteronomy 28, but in its verse 29: “… day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you…”
