THE WORD: “BLESSED ARE YOU WHO HAVE SEEN ME AND BELIEVE. BUT, MORE BLESSED ARE THOU WHO HAVE NOT SEEN ME BUT BELIEVE.
THIS HAS A LOT TO DO WITH OUR FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. FOR WITHOUT FAITH, IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD.”
THE city council has sought for the total ban of the firecrackers & the pyrotechnics in welcoming the New Year’s Eve during the yuletide season this coming month of December.
DIST. 2 Councilor BG Guingona sponsored such measure in lieu of the trauma still being suffered by a lot of the hostages in the nearly month-long Zamboanga siege that sparked last Sept. 9.
THE young city legislator reasoned out that when tasked to handle the hostages’ plight after they either escaped, rescued or freed by the breakaway MNLF-Misuari armed group that laid siege at-least six urban villages in the city, these traumatized victims said they couldn’t stand the sounds and the smokes stemmed from gun-fires or anything similar to it.
GUINGONA informed the August Body that such an event will recur the horrid past in
the lives of these hostages.
BANNED as well, are toy guns, the August Body agreed on.
“BUENO se pencing, para nuay mas ese mga incidente de stray bullets o mga victima/ casualties porcausa lang de mga firecrackers o pyrotechnics durante celebracion de paskua y año nuevo,” c Bogs taman pa sabe yatamen.
“Husto man tamen se pencing, para Zero casualty tene’ kta este celebracion de paskua y año nuevo,” tupao tamen c Ador.
A Seminar on the proper traffic handlings by the barangay tanods in the city’s different adjoining villages-- especially those lying near the city proper, is one welcome move done by our sangguniang panlungsod( city council).
It’ll indeed help out in the smooth flow of our traffic sections-- more so, on those junctions/ intersections where bottlenecks and/or jams stir easily when traffic congestions arise during those peak hours of the day in mi ciudad de Zamboanga.
GOOD sense of serious concern by the August Body in the light of the yet chaotic situation prevailing in mi ciudad de Zamboanga due to all these ‘eyesores’ stemmed from those thousands of evacuees still mushrooming right in our very midst.
UP to when we can finally resolve such woes, that we don’t know for sure up to now.
ONLY the Crisis Management Committee(CMC) knows pretty well, we presuppose.
“EL problema pencing, manada lli taman broma pa canaton aserca cunese CMC,” ya combersa ya tamen c Bogs.
“Cosa man se Bogs?” c Ador ya ace su pregunta.
“Na, ese dao aton Crisis Management Crisis ta abla sila na ingles: is in crisis in etself,” c Bogs ya pega’ su cuentas claras tamen.
“Man pikon se sila, Bogs,” ya amena c Nado.
“No era, cay public servants sila. C pikon sila, no yalang era sila kda pulitiko,” tupao tamen c Bogs.
THIS quirky name in a woman brings to my mind the Yolanda that I knew in the 60s. She was a screen actress-- sultry & sexy!
SHE was one of those most sought-after young daring movie stars appearing in those craze “bomba” films so popular amongst teenagers of those days as they frequented the cinemas jam-packed to the rafters, hustling & jostling just to see those lewd movies.
AND one that monstrously stood out amongst them was the temptress of them all YOLANDA!
NO wonder that same name Yolanda, described as Monster-typhoon, has battered extremely the eastern part of our country last Friday & Saturday before it reportedly made its exit from our already seriously beleaguered country.
(Recall, we were rocked by a powerful intensity 7.2 quake with Bohol as its epicenter. THEN, the series of super storms-- one of which lashed our city, right after the three-week long bloody standoff last Sept.
Luzon wasn’t spared, as well, as another super storm lashed its own region, too)
Yolanda reportedly went on to brutally ravage those places situated in its very direction upon its landfall-- beginning in Leyte and Bohol in the Visayas.
AS of late yesterday (Friday), initial reports of sure casualties and damage to properties were yet to be assessed.
ACCORDING to weather experts, Yolanda is one of the world’s severest typhoons ever recorded in decades.
AS foretold in the Scriptures, these pockets of Judgment from Heaven, are to happen in all corners of the world, and when they’re coming, it means God’s Final Judgment is now so near.
PRAY, therefore—for it means our own All Salvation!
AND, when praying, make sure it’s there with all sincerity & honesty-- coming from our pure hearts & minds.
LET’s not pray like the pagans do, with their mere lips and nothing from their hearts and minds.
FOR, the Lord saith: “You hypocrites, you honor me with your lips, but your hearts are so faraway from me, in vain you worship me.”
