LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever…” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, the Holy Bible).

“SON OF GOD” THE MOVIE, FEBRUARY 28, 2014: In 2009, the world was treated to the possible way it would end via the scary movie “2012”. Obviously, someone inspired the moviemakers led by famed American director Roland Emmerich to remind everyone that there is an end to this world, that this end is going to be violent, and would spare no one, whether rich or poor.

Many got entertained by it, sure, but then, it seemed nobody paid serious attention to the movie’s message. Nobody considered the movie as a possible warning from God that what it depicted is going to come real soon. Now, there is a new movie called the “Son of God” from 20th Century Fox which will be shown worldwide on February 28, 2014, where the life of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, is narrated once again.

It is just the trailer of that movie that I watched from a Facebook post, but it is giving me the creeps. Surely, this kind of a movie, and the others about God and Jesus that are also forthcoming, are being used to remind us, more urgently now, that the Biblically-prophesied Second Coming of Jesus is about to happen?

DO WE KNOW WHAT THE “RAPTURE” IS ALL ABOUT? Are we prepared for this Second Coming, which is also prophesied to be end of the world? Or, are we even aware of this Second Coming and of the end of the world, and the fact that both of these events have been written about quite clearly in the Bible a long time ago?

For those who do not know, Jesus disclosed that there is going to be a destructive end of the world, marked by a “great tribulation” never before seen and never will be seen again, and this is going to be heralded by a set of definite events like wars, famines, hunger, and earthquakes. This can be read in Matthew 24 of the Bible.

But what many also do not know is that before the end will come, Jesus Himself will come down from heaven, accompanied by His angels. When He comes again, the dead and the living who accepted Him as God and Savior will be taken up to the clouds to be with Him forever. This is called the “rapture”, in 1 Thessalonians 4, and surely no sinner will be in it. The sinners will be left to burn in the rain of fire.

OBJECTIONS FROM AQUINO CABINET ON LACSON POST: There is one piece of news which proclaimed, quite oddly, that the Cabinet of President Aquino did not have any objection to the appointment of Panfilo M. Lacson as Rehabilitation Secretary. To me, this rather confirmed that Lacson’s appointment was objected to vigorously by people close to Aquino who are angling for very important positions in 2016, because Lacson can outshine them, and therefore sideline their dreams.

DID HOUSE ACT ON RESOLUTION NO. 2793? Can House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. comment on Resolution No. 2793 which Rep. Emmi A. De Jesus filed with the chamber on September 20, 2012 yet, and which is now being circulated in Facebook? Did the House ever act on the request of De Jesus that congressmen should investigate how the Bureau of Internal Revenue moved on the investigation of the tax liabilities of  a well-known businessman?

CONGRATS, INQUIRER: Congratulations to the Inquirer’s receiving the “Silver Award” from the Youth Engagement Summit being held at Warsaw, Poland by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, in recognition of its “Inquirer Read Along” program for Filipino kids. But, may I suggest that the Inquirer should also use this great program for introducing the Bible to children likewise?
