ZC’s watershed gravely encroached by ‘minorities’

(BY: JUN FELICIANO)    THE WORD:

“ I am come to send fire on the earth; what will I, if it be already kindled? But, I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, nay; but rather division.” (Luke 13: 49- 51)

OUR Lord Jesus Christ was emphatic when he revealed that he came unto this world to tell everything about the truth of his coming. The truth hurts, yet when we accept it, the hurt will just disappear. It’s hard to accept when he said that he came not to bring peace but division. He’s enlightening us that for the sake of him, families will be divided amongst themselves, for there are those in families who’ll surely deny themselves to take up the cross and follow our Lord Jesus, instead stick it out with their parents. Eternal life is what’s being taught to us by our Lord Jesus Christ himself.

He saith( in the Scriptures): “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but by me.” Email: jayfeliciano2@yahoo.com

ZCWD has confirmed the serious encroachment of the city’s watershed area by a minority group near its boundary with the municipality of Sibuco, Zamboangadel Norte.

“There’s already an area that looks like a community already right inside our city’s watershed area,” disclosed a top ZCWD source last week.

EVEN Dist. 2 Congresswoman Lilia Nuño has expressed grave concern over such a very disturbing report.

THE group is claiming that they have been inhabiting in the area ever since, and that it’s even part of their ancestral domain.

THE only best option right now for our city to sternly adopt with regards to such an issue, is to prevent its further encroachment deep inside our watershed reservation.

That’s the very reason why there’s a dire need for the enactment into law the yet pending bill in the Senate to declare our Pasonanca Park as one of the few remaining national parks to be thoroughly protected from being infringed by any outside elements.

THE still to- be-enacted bill has already been approved in the Lower House, according to Dist. 2 Congresswoman Lilia Nuño, “but the Senate has to give its nod, as well, for it to finally become a law,” according to her.

UNTIL such time the bill can become a law, the supposed encroachment, if remains unchecked, can go further widening itself, as surely, any population that exists in there, can even grow that fast.

ACCORDING to the ZCWD’s monitoring team, there are approximately 200 school kids in that minority community out there, and most if not all these young students are children of the subanen tribe/s known living in that area since time immemorial.

THIS is going to give us a big headache in the very near future, unless our authorities concerned act fast to resolve such a blatant land conflict in the offing.
