Heraclitus the philosopher penned, “The only thing that is constant is change.” This fact is also true in thefield of broadcasting. With the advent of technology, news delivery has never been the same in innovations to meet the needs of the public because to deliver the freshest news is the Holy Grail in mass communication.Zamboanga City must not be left past in such a changing tide. Hence was the birth of eMedia on September 8, 2013.
eMedia is the newest FM radio station in the City that offers Zamboanga and the world broadcasting to its finest and best innovations. It hails its motto—SERVING LOCAL, BROADCASTING GLOBAL. To explain it simply, eMedia broadcasts in the FM band at the frequency 105.9khz.in RBB Bldg., Villa Sta. Theresa Village, MCLL Highway, Divisoria, Zamboanga City. Further, simultaneously eMedia’s broadcast can be seen on television in three different channels—37 local, 54 in Sky Cable and 98 in Mindanao Cable, and online via ustream in the link www.emediamo.tv! As they say, eMedia is a five-in-one media outfit.
Think about this paradigm shift. eMedia envisions that even one day that ordinary citizens, like tricycle drivers, can become volunteer reporters to flash on-the-spot real situations in the road. Amazing to know that radio now can be heard through handy mobile phones while tucked onto pockets or seea TV program through those same phones.Ely Dumaboc, an eMedia reporter, had a one hilarious experience whilepassing downstairs in UZ across the city hall. A security guard on duty was watching the 6-8 AM “eMedia Mo” program hosted by PARTNERS Gil Climaco& Rey BayonaBayoging. Friends, it’s now the 21st Century!
During the siege, Zamboangueños all over the world heard firsthand news minute by minute through the technology innovations of eMedia. Just imagine, how would a Zamboangueño nurse feel in Chicago, Illinois last year when his wife and children were residing in Sta. Catalina? His worry and cares can’t be quantified. But at least because of the bravery of the men & women of eMedia through the news, he was affirmed &informed of the real ground situations.
eMedia opens broadcast early as 3AM. The comical DJ eBoy awakes Zamboanga and creates good noises on the air by playing classic music of Victor Wood, Eddie Peregrina and novelty songs of Yoyoy Villame, Max Surban and others. Parents early risers cannot be bored now, just tune-in to e105.9 New FM.
Come 5-6AM is the program “Report del Pueblo” hosted by partners Rey Bayona Bayoging and Gay Lozada Baylosis. Tita Gay sings at the morning program with her cool and touching voice to entertain you. “Report del Pueblo” delivers the freshest news with video coverage.
From 6-8AM, veteran and respected anchor/announcer GILClimaco hosts the “eMedia Mo” program with his tandem partner Rey Bayona Bayoging. It is a two-hour full of news information which transpired the prior 24 hours. Reporters from the field also remotely deliver situational reports on the spot and mostly exclusive. Yesterday (Monday), the guest of the program was ZCPPA Manager Engr. Liberto C. dela Rosa. They discussed about the arrival of the huge and sophisticated Navy ship PF-16BRP Ramon Alacaraz in the local wharf.
At 8-9AM, Zamboanga Today Editor-in-Chief (EIC) JV Faustino partners with eMedia manager Belsie Agustin on Mondays, veteran broadcaster Nonie Dondoyano on Tuesdays and respected journalist Liza Jocson on Wednesdays and Thursdays, for the “Comversa, Quosa Ba?” program. This program will surprise the listeners with different topics from Tuesday to Thursday. It also delivers live full coverage of the City Council session, allowing viewers to witness and be updated on the issues affecting the city.
Politics is definitely part of our daily lives as “Politika 2016” enters at 9-10AM every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Gil Climaco and JV Faustino team up to discuss political developments, issues and concerns, as well as the effects of politics in our day to day activities.
Songs in FM format shifts the flow of the eMedia programming beginning 10 AM to 3 PM. You may listen at 12NN-1PM to DJ Little Giant daily and be inspired.
eMedia current affairs return from 3-10PM.
