Lumayang: Soon ZC’s Baguio

(BY: REV. BERLIE G. YAP) The All Souls Day and All Saints Day have been a long week for the men and women of Barangay eMedia! Yesterday, partner Kap Fred Atilano thought to reward his colleagues by treating them for an extravagant lunch—sky-is-the-limit-banquet style. Disc Jock Dodong Ehh commented if Kap Fred was angry because he was feeding them well!

Media folks need to unwind too. They are also human beings who need rejuvenation. News gathering, these couple of weeks, had been very toxic for the Barangay eMedia people. But nobody complains. Everyone is motivated with high morale to deliver the accurate, freshest, up-close and possibly exclusive news to our tele-viewers.

It rained yesterday in Lumayang. It really was chilling cold. The treat was in Monte Santo, a private property who is also owned by a media personality which he generously lent for Barangay eMedia. Kap Fred wanted there because there is a pool—that should anyone from the group wants a plunge he could do without limits as well but provided if he can withstand the cold, and the scenery of the downtown City is a bit clearer and more panoramic.

Do you know where Lumayang is? Upper of Lumbangan! It’s a strictly farming community, originally, but has recently allured many down-town folks to buy for sale lots. The reason: it is such a perfect place for a pristine living. This works especially for those who are to spend their retirement years whose sole wish is to live happy for the rest of their lives. If you’re looking for a tranquil place and security, Lumayang is your perfect place.

Check personally in google to know more about Lumayang. Kap Fred Atilano has been its Barangay Captain for several terms. He also has served his constituents to his utmost, thus Lumayang folks repaid him their unwavering support as their way of gratitude to him.

Personally, the writer was as well down for three days. Flu got a toll of him. Stress is one of our foes we need to muster friends. Though thankfully, when Sunday came the writer regained demeanor, by God’s grace.

Barangay eMedia has a value, PROFESSIONALISM. Every work is a finery and a masterpiece. It is a guarantee. The caliber of our President and CEO Rey Bayona Bayoging, our General Manager Belsie Agustin and our Head on News and Current Affairs, the legendary, GIL Climaco provided the team the good example.

For the three days, there were no much untoward incidents except for a handful of remote vehicular accidents where motorcycles are the ones usually involved. Why perhaps? It has different factors. One, motorcycles have only 2 wheels, second, most motorcycle-drivers are younger ones, third, it is the traffic congestions of Zamboanga City.

A good reminder for today Monday, drive wisely. We pray God’s protection be upon us. May we have fruitful a November and Zamboanga to be ever blessed.

Believe the divine. Affiliations ain’t much a matter. It’s our ability to connect ourselves to the Creator Himself and rely on Him. In prayer, we may stand, kneel or frustrate, each works when we come to Him in faith.

“Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.” Rom. 12:6-10
