A KO win for Pacquiao

(BY: JUN FELICIANO) (Words of Enlightenment)

WE can eat anything we want, and this won’t affect our spirit. What affects our spirit are our evil thoughts that come from within.

It’ll make us sick— the food that’s contrary to our body system, but they won’t affect the spirit inside us. The Bible says: “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? For from within, out of the person’s heart come evil thoughts: sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these vile things come from within, they are what defile you.”(Mark 7: 18-19). Email:

LIGA ng mga Barangay Pres. Councilor Jerry “Totong” Perez, last week, said the known boundary issue is now virtually resolved, with only a few barangays yet left to be settled.

THE boundary issue came about when an out-of-town survey team(from Luzon), by virtue of a supposed Presidential directive, conducted its citywide survey in a bid to redesign the boundaries in ZC.

THEIR surveying task is said nationwide, and that their timetable for their boundary survey in ZC is about to be completed this Nov.— their deadline given by their superiors in Metro Manila.

“We have decided to have them on a status quo—meaning they remain as is, as agreed amongst the many barangay officials in the city,” a top city hall official concurred with Councilor Perez’ stand.

“Tupao se, no sila anay trompesa mga boundaries del ciudad, cay dilicao clase de issue se,” warned a top city hall source on Thursday.

ZC has a total of 98 barangays within its area of jurisdiction, and if the survey team’s findings be implemented, then troubles could erupt anytime amongst defiant barangays in the city. It’ll even lead to bloodsheds, according to some quarters here.

Mas bueno gane’ as is lang siempre anay, until a clear-cut survey guidelines  can be formulated to preclude any possible escalation of boundary disputes, not only in our city, but also on a national scale.

SPORTS are getting exceptionally interesting this couple of days.  There’s the daily NBA games schedules that can be traced on our TV sets we can watch right inside our own dining rooms. Of-course, I can always count on my idol king James, now donning the Cleveland Cavaliers’ uniform with his riginal jersey no. 23.(When playing for the Miami Heat where he won his two NBA titles, James was wearing a different no. in his jersy for the Heat. It was no. 6.

TODAY (Sunday) , our very own world boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquao will climb the ring to defend his WBO welterweight crown vs. young and undefeated Chris Algerie of USA.

Manny took back this year the crown he lost via a controversial split decision to his former tormentor Timothy “The Desert Storm” Bradley 2 years ago.

ALGERIE of Algerian descent, rose to prominence just recently when he dethroned then WBO light-welterweight Ruslan Provodnikon, a Russian fighter who was Manny’s spar-mate in early days.

MANY are predicting that Manny will knock out Algerie within 5 to 9 rounds in their scheduled 12-round title match to be held in Macau this Sunday.

BUT, many of the doomsters too, are saying Pacquiao has to be in real tip-top shape for the fight as the young unbeaten Algerie—an ambitious fighter with 20 wins, but only 8 KOs to his credit, against Manny’s 38 KOs of the more than 50 wins with only 5 defeats and 2 draws in his boxing career record— is touting that he has a secret weapon to surprise and destroy Manny when they collide this coming Sunday.

HE’s also saying he’ll try to knock out Manny, as well.

Entonses, bonito este laban di-ila na Domingo.

WHEN Manny fights, the whole boxing world is on a standstill, and many are just in their homes to watch another Manny Pacquiao classic fight in the making.

ALL Pacquiao’ fights are certified PPV chartbusters.

MY prediction is that Manny will finish off Algerie in the later rounds, most likely in the 10th round. Manny will score his first KO win since he stopped  and wrestled the WBO welterweight crown from Puertorican mega fighter Miguel Cotto five years ago. MANNY set records in boxing history— including being the only fighter who ruled as world champ in 8-different weight divisions: flyweight, super bantamweight, featherweight, junior lightweight, lightweight, junior welterweight( or super-lightweight), welterweight and super-welterweight( or junior middleweight).

MANY of our boxing experts across the globe, would like Pacquiao to fight WBC welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr. before he hangs up his gloves for good.

BOXING analysts believe that the only fighter who can defeat the unbeaten Mayweather, Jr. is Pacquiao. But, Mayweather continues to dodge the fight that many boxing fans in the world would like to see.

THEY jeered Mayweather for chickening from the richest fight ever that the world would like to see.

BUT, international boxing promoters, like Bob Arum, are still keeping their fingers crossed that the biggest fight that could earn both boxers a record $100 million purse each, can still be staged in the near future before both of them retire from the ring, as they are now past 30 years old. Pacquiao is more than 35 years old while Mayweather is even older at almost 40 years old.

“There’s no way they wont’ fight, because this will mean breaking all gate records in terms of revenues, and in terms of huge earnings they’ll both reap. There’s no way they’ll scuttle this one biggest fight in their boxing careers. It means a lot to all of us who love boxing.

IN the meantime, let’s all cheer and root for a convincing victory for own kama-o Manny “Pac-man” Pacquiao. Good luck, Manny!@
