JAIL congestion hampers ZCPO war vs. drug menace

(BY: JUN FELICIANO) (Words of Enlightenment)

THE Word made flesh is the One manifesting himself as the audible voice of God while here roaming on the earth more than 2,000 years ago.

HEAVEN and Earth will pass away but my Word remains the same, yesterday, today and for all eternity, saith our Lord Jesus Christ.

JESUS further revealed: “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end. I am the one who is, who always was and who is still to come—the Almighty One.” (Revelation 1: 8) Email:

THERE is a dire need for the immediate transfer of the present( vintage) undersized jail station to a vaster and more fitting site— preferably in a scanty place, away from the city’s  densely population center.

THE neediness principally came as our ZCPO under its director S/Supt. Angelito Casimiro is currently waging an all-out war vs. the worsening illicit drug woes in the city.

THE drug menace has gravely pierced its lethal upshot right into the mainstream of our very own society here, according to police findings.

COL. Casimiro revealed that the city’s old-aged and incessantly crammed jail facility, merely a walking distance from City Hall in downtown, can no longer house more additional inmates, amid their vigorous buy-bust operations versus the city’s current aggravating illegal drug scourge.

CASIMIRO disclosed that each of the 11 sub-police stations that we have here, is required to come up with at-least one(1) buy-bust operation a week in their respective AORs.

“Poreso gale’ dasucan ay keda se jail station diaton,” c Bogs ya nota man.

AND, the danger lies in its susceptibility for a possible jailbreak or jail riot(buyak!) if its jamming problem might turn from bad to worse.

IN my recent tête-à-tête with jail warden C/Insp. Julius Arro, he concededly stated he’s just helpless as to the jail station’s perennial congestion problem.

“I’m just helpless,” was his curt reply.

CASIMIRO revealed, during the CH press briefing last Monday(Dec.1), that right now, they’re letting other police detention cells in their substations to accommodate the excess no. of their arrested drug suspects lodged inside the overcrowded city jail station.

THE jail transfer has been a knotty issue, ever since.

IT was the cry even in the reins of its past jail wardens way back in the 80’s and 90’s amid the meteoric population growth of ZC.
