MILF-MNLF ALLIANCE, TRUE OR FALSE?

THE fact that they have their supposed joined meetings in recent days in ZC, bolstered  the suspicion of many that the MILF and MNLF are but same and one banana.

NONETHELESS, our police authorities can’t just categorically say so, as they need to be more prudent and discreet on the subject matter, for such is indeed a very sensitive issue to handle by even our top echelon in gov’t.

WELL said and done sir/s! lest we make our lives more complicated, albeit we’re all Filipinos— having same race, color, same country ( and same flag?).

We need to mutually pay our respect and loyalty with them and vice-versa, regardless of our Faith or Creed.

ZC Public Safety Co. Commander police Supt. Ariel Huesca subtly replied when interviewed on Monday by Pencing: “Hindi natin puede masasabi ( na mayroon). We can’t just say there is(alliance). It’s very difficult to speculate.”

THIS query cropped up when on Feb. 12,  our police operatives from the ZC public safety co. managed to intercept, in the boundary of Tungawan, Sibugay and ZC, a number of vehicles— both private and public conveyances, with supposed MILF and MNLF members on board, as they were reportedly bound towards our city proper coming from Central Mindanao, like Cotabato and Maguindanao where the infamous Jan. 25 Mamasapano bloody incident occurred— resulting in the massacre of the PNP’s 44 members of its elite Special Action Forces(SAF).

“We discovered 15 passengers on board ( their vehicles). When we asked their consent if we could check their baggage/s, it turned out one them( passengers) may dalang MNLF uniform at saka MNLF IDs.  A few minutes later, may duma-an rin Nissan, and when we also asked that their things b e checked, as well, we discovered MNLF IDs and their documents. Then, 15 minutes later, we also checked ( with consent) a Pick-up( vehicle), and three of their passengers were discovered carrying documents, including a list of 47 names of MILF members,” the young police Superintendent bared.

THESE held-for-questioning MILF members were later released, but were escorted by our cops to the PPA port where they boarded a passenger motor vessel, bound for Sulu Province where they claimed they’d attend a supposed major event in that island province.

CASIMIRO CLARIFIES THEIR RELEASE

“They were not carrying any firearms, and therefore, wala naman violation,” clarified ZCPO director S/Supt. Angelito Casimiro, in separate interview last Monday by this corner.

ON the reported recruitment of MILF members in ZC, Col. Casimiro said that such a ‘report’ doesn’t hold water as of yet,  as they’re still  subject to proper verification and confirmation through their profound evaluation and thorough probe on such a ‘report.’

NEVERTHELESS, the good police colonel curtly admitted having received similar ‘reports’ asserting that there are ongoing massive recruitments of MILF members in our neighboring autonomous island provinces, like Basilan, Sulu and even Tawi-Tawi.

That’s where the danger lies, as ZC has been always known as these people’s R & R (Rest and Recreation) center.

THE Feb. 12 interception of those 15 MILF and MNLF by our police sentinels manning their set-up checkpoints in that boundary we have with the town of Tungawan, Sibugay Province, is but simply a scrape of the surface, so to speak.

Admittedly, we are helpless on this score, right sirs? (@)
