IF we have the divine love, we can even love those who’re strangers to us. And, that kind of love is Agape Love(Divine Love.). We know two more types of love: Eros love is love for the opposite sex, and Felio’s love is only for the love of those whom we know as our friends and loved ones. Still, they’re described as selfish love, unlike Agape love that transcends both and all!
THE Bible tells us the kind of love taught to us by our Lord Almighty Father: “LOVE is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoice whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” (1 Corinthians 13: 4-7). Emalil: firstname.lastname@example.org
EX-Vice Mayor Bong Ko’s strong push from his end (though, retired from politics?) was indeed, considered, highly, after all.
KO was vocal from his recluse that the city gov’t of Zamboanga he served since elected as City Councilor in the l990’s, should adopt all stringent measures to protect, at all cost, the city’s renowned watershed area— one of only three watershed reservations in the entire country.
KO’s urgent call, as interviewed by this corner recently, didn’t click with much importance, though— as my straight news I wrote for a possible space, front page, about two or three weeks ago, appeared unmeritorious at all.
NOW, it’s proving to be worth its salt.
IN my interview with ZCWD’s new chair of the board, Engr. Efren “Noning” Arañez, the other day, the former city mayor( Arañez) emphasized the need to even augment and boost their security personnel deployed in the watershed area.
“We’re spending P28 million a year for security alone. Now, we have a plan to set up in the ZCWD a SCAA( Special Cafgu auxiliary) to augment our security. We have, right now, 100 security guards and foresters guarding the watershed,” Engr. Arañez bared.
AND, ZCPO director S/Supt. Angelito Casimiro also made it a point, that ample security for our only remaining watershed site here, will be provided, and to be fully secured by elements of the PNP and ably backed up by the AFP assigned here in ZC.
THAT’s what ex-VM Ko and the majority of us here, Zamboangueños, are praying for, for “Agua es Vida.” Is that not the strong slogan of our ZCWD? And, obviously, the same clarion call of the whole world, now fast drying up because of this Climate Change phenomenon.
YES, that’s the nub of our whole concern, right now. So, let’s all be vigilant, and help secure our only watershed area, against those poachers out to abuse, rape and denude our remaining forests, still standing virgin inside our supposedly getting bald watershed area.
PLEASE think of the future—the future of your children and their children to come.
INSTEAD of destroying, let us all do our utmost to save our Pasonanca watershed area where the main source of our potable water comes from.
THIS is our earnest appeal to all those pretty unkind and cruel to our gravely-abused watershed area that’s now even more in dire need of help from our authorities concerned, and that’s to secure it and protect it to the hilt.
HOPING and praying that the supposed ample security measures that they’re currently declaring to all and sundry won’t simply be a mere pronouncement, but surely one serious concern to reckon with.(30)
