He’s Totally Exonerated Now

PDFPrintE-mail

Barangay eMedia has extensively followed the story of Jeffrey Yosores, the former suspect of the rape-slay case of that college student who was killed somewhere in the bypass road last January. The young man is now totally exonerated, from all of the accusations against him, as that DNA test, which the Divisoria Police waited, was released then few days ago. Such test did not match to Yosores’ genetic signature. In other words, Yosores is innocent!

What probably is the plan of the latter’s family now, will they maybe seek vindication against those who tried to destroy Jeffrey’s life? Admittedly, their reputation was besmirched. Besides, there was this one radio station, which fatally grilled Jeffrey for days, as to almost like present him to the public guilty of the charges. You know, in the media industry there is this what everyone calls as RATING.

The rape-slay story enraged the public, so that local radio stations everywhere had found the clear opportunity to make a good story. Thus, Jeffrey became the very subject of exploitation. But there is God, and the Creator must have helped Yosores, on his trying moments. Of course, his legal counsel was also undeniably good.

The lawyer of Yosores was Atty. Roberto Rivero III. The latter was able to effectively defend his client. The writer had a talk with Yosores’ legal counsel, two weeks ago. Atty. Rivero humbly remarked that he just did his job professionally. After the storm of Yosores, better things do await him then.

Accordingly, he would have wanted to study to college. In fact, he saved from his meager wage gradually, so that on this coming June, he could enroll already. But unfortunately, because of his almost 2-months incarceration, the family spent all their little savings. Jeffrey’s dream came into halt again.

Albeit, the surprises of his life’s story continued to unfold, right after the release of that DNA test. The management of Barangay eMedia pitied the young life of Yosores, so that its board of directors thought to give him a scholarship grant, in Southern City Colleges (SCC). Thus, this coming June he can study already, and when he can finish, Barangay eMedia will also hire him right away.

The trials has unexpectedly led to Yosores’ betterment. His family cried again, when they heard this good news, but this time they are tears of joy. They somehow could not believe that God turned so rapidly their trials for the favors of their innocent son. So, think of it, when Yosores may work then in Barangay eMedia, he may meet again those policemen who beat and wanted him to admit that he was the killer of the rape-slay victim.

In the process, he can later become a field reporter or a technician to Barangay eMedia. Anyways, what matters more, at this time, is the turning of the events for Jeffrey’s life. He ought to let go of the past, and that to include all the pains he underwent, then to embrace to what holds for his life at the present, and for his future.

Partner Kap Fred Atilano was the assigned field reporter who followed-up the story of Yosores since day one. He also fell some tears when he personally read the copy of the result of the DNA test, which Barangay eMedia was able to secure. In the process, it ain’t just partner Kap Fred but everyone in Barangay eMedia, who instead became closer to the Yosores family. Very nice to help an innocent man.

If the media world did not help maintain the balanced news, Yosores might still be inside the prison. But candidly, there are those who objected to the behavior of that one radio station, which pressed him months ago. By all means, what they did was to impliedly help falsely accusean innocent man. It will be upon Yosores now, if he indeed wants to file charges against those who hurt him.

“Whoever pampers his servant from childhood will in the end find him his heir. A man of wrath stirs up strife, and one given to anger causes much transgression. One’s pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. The partner of a thief hates his own life; he hears the curse, but discloses nothing. The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe.” (Prov. 29:21-25, ESV)
