(Enlightenment—Passage of the Day)

Q.) WHY CAN’T WE HIDE OUR INIQUITIES FROM THE SIGHT OF GOD? HOW POWERFUL GOD IS THAT EVEN THE MOST SECRET CAN’T BE CONCEALED AT ALL FROM HIS SIGHT?

A.) THW BIBLE ATTESTS TO IT: “FOR GOD SHALL BRING EVERY WORK INTO JUDGMENT, WITH EVERY SECRET THING, WHETHER IT BE GOOD OR WHETHER IT BE EVIL.” (ECCLESIASTES 12: 14). Email: jayfeliciano2@yahoo.com

PRIOR to visting SP(after two misses of its weekly regular session),I dropped by our City Library just close to its council edifice on RT Lim blvd., for a little research I was making a follow up on my own to satiate my curiosity on a strange subject matter. I was greeted by its door guard in white attire (a hired security guard whose security agency firm the city forged its contract with to help secure its library property). As I was allowed to get inside, Neneng, the wife of my old buddy in media (no need to mention his name) introduced to me their new Acting Librarian. “Jun, she’s our new City Librarian Ms. Anna Melinda Borres Decir.”

The good Acting City Librarian, after we were introduced to each other, accompanied me upstairs where their library section can now be found, when all I knew then it was first set up on ground floor.

“ I took over as OIC only last July 1 when Ma’am (Emilia?) Natividad) retired last Jun30. I’m now on my 24th year here. My last assignment (before being appointed as OIC) was with the library services division,”Ms. Decir said.

The OIC Librarian hails from Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, but already a long-time resident of ZC that she even finished her college days graduating BSE majoring in library courses at the Ateneo De Zamboanga Univerity (ADZU).

“And, what are your plans right now? I asked her.

She told me her topmost priority is to improve its library services to all its clientele, especially the young students, and avail them the latest modern IT (Information Technology). If I may add, what’s that our good Councilor Kim Elago from Dist. 2, is espousing with regards to ICT (Information Computer Technology? Right Councilor Elago?)– probably, they’re same banana, pardon me Ms. Decir.

WHAT’s annoying is that our City Library, according to Ms. Decir (when inquired), is lacking in its computer units. “There are only 3 computer units that are functioning. The rest (6 or 7 of them, Ma’am Decir?), are for repair as they are not working, right now,” according to her. As I moved around its only upper floor, I saw its next door with its name of Dist. 2 Councilor Juan Climaco Elago II conspicuously printed well to welcome his constituents, as it still remains his official office in his capacity as an elective local city legislator representing his people in the east-coast.

“Taki pa gale’ c Consehal Kim Elago taman oficina?”

“Yes Sir, he holds his office here,” Ms. Decir confirmed.

Entonses, bien tupao c Kim. Ya evacua ya le una. Ese pa! (By Jun Feliciano) (30)
