(SHARING TIME) Man’s life is merely a borrowed one

PDFPrintE-mail

LET it be known to all and sundry, that every step in our lives is a step to eternity, for we don’t know when the Inevitable strikes us.

THIS is why we, undeniably, have our birth certificates with us, but who amongst us have to ourselves, right now, our own death certificates in our possession, huh?

None, at all! Precisely, because we don’t know when it’s coming.

“For you are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.”(THESSALONIAN 5:2).

To prove to you that the Inevitable (death) doesn’t respect age at all, go to the cemetery, all ages are buried out there in their graves.

NOW, let us go to the truth that life in this world is so short, that man can only live up to its allowed limited lifespan.

The Bible says, “The days of our life are threescore years and ten; if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” (PSALM 90:10). That means we only have up to 70 years of age to live a blissful life here on Earth as allowed by our Lord, the Creator of everything, to include the heaven and the earth. If we happen to live longer than 70 years of age, then those are bonus years for us to live much longer. And, that’s a gift from God.

However, no matter how we wish to prolong our life here on this planet Earth, one day we’ll ultimately return to dust and form part of the ground (the earth) once again. The Bible says, “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” (ECCLESIASTES 12:7).

NOW, here’s what we ought to know about us. This life in you and me, is not owned by us, but by God. That’s why we die. For, if we own our life, we can live as long as we want. But, because somebody owns it, therefore, it’s only its Owner(God) who can take it away from us. Thus, this is proof that this life in us, right now, is only a borrowed life— hence, through death, it has to return to its rightful owner who’s but God alone. And, being our Maker, only He, then, can take it away from us. “The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the LORD.”(PSALM 24:1).

IF and when everything has been said and done about the issue of our soul, what’s therefore, supposed to be in our minds, right now? You still to be so enamored by this world that’ll just be a thing of the past one day, huh? “The heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”(Matthew 24:35)

AFTER weighing everything, the paragon of every mankind’s optimal goal should be, “I’d rather be honored not by mere mortals but by God, for He’s the only one who can give me Everlasting Life, in the end.”

The Bible says, “For it is my Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40).
