House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Public Works and Highways, Cong. Celso Lobregat has bared that the projects appropriated for the Road Convergence Program (RCP) between the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the DPWH are now on final stages.

Lobregat said that for this year, the national government has appropriated the amount of P150 Million for said projects are pursued thru the combined efforts of the two agencies cited.

This project includes the concreting of the 25.7-kilometer road from Jct. of the National Highway to Nancy Falls in La Paz, a city/barangay road that has been classified as a road leading to a tourism site.

Lobregat said that in the past, the city government could only afford to allocate a yearly amount of P5 to P10 Million to concrete and maintain sub ject stretch of road.

Since 5 years ago – his running terms in congress - the National Government thru RCP has been pouring multi million peso funding every year on that Ayala La Paz roadway. And by the time the project is completed the fund would amount to some One (1) Billion Pesos.

Lobregat stressed, the road leading to eco-tourism sites is also very vital for it is similarly the main artery to the highlands which would benefit our farmers as well.

Same is true, Lobregat added for the Zamboanga City Ecozone, as the 2018 General Appropriations Act (GAA) contains 2 Road Packages worth P250 Million under the DTI/DPWH road convergence.

Lobregat pledged that in this Golden Era of infrastructure in the country under the Duterte administration, he will make sure that we are awash with major infrastructure projects necessary for progress and development of our city.

Tension between the U.S and Korea is expected to cool down in the days to come. The two top leaders, American President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will meet by May and Kim has pledged to refrain from further nuclear or missile tests.

Chung Eui-yong, South Korean national security chief made this pronouncement on Thursday after briefing White House officials on talks between Seoul and Pyongyang.

“He expressed his eagerness to meet President Trump as soon as possible,” Eui-yong said, adding, “President Trump appreciated the briefing and said he would meet Kim Jong Un by May to achieve denuclearization,”

A meeting between Kim and Trump, who have exchanged bellicose insults in the past year that have raised fears of war, would mark a dramatic breakthrough in efforts to resolve the tense standoff over North Korea’s effort to develop a nuclear-tipped missile capable of hitting the U.S. mainland.

Yesterday, the Korean toughie was quoted to have said, the North will deneuclarize un der only one condition - America will vow not to attack them, and sincerely hold on to the pledge.

Anyone but Senator Antonio Trillanes IV could look into the bank records of President Duterte in a bid to show he has no ill-gotten wealth, Malacañang said Thursday.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said the President was ready to show the public that his wealth would not exceed P40 million.

Excluded, too, from access to the President’s finances, however, were his political rivals due to concerns they might launch a “fishing expedition” against him.

It was exactly a full paged short-sized bond paper today. No extra lines, but for these few ones. While so many other interesting newsbits remain untouched, have to wrap it up here. Relative-critics, particularly wife Lily and now Manila-based Auntie Nitz lead the gang in griping over supposed length of SS.

God bless (By Jimmy Cabato)
