House Committee chairf on Public Works and Highways, Cong. Celso Lobregat goes out of his way to move things fast. Yesterday, he helped DPWH officials talk to affected lot owners along road widening projects being constructed in this city.

Lobregat initiated the move when he learned in last week's coordinating conference with the DPWH and other stakeholders that they are finding it hard pressed with negotiations with affected lot owners for the Road Right-of-Way (RROW).

Soon after, Lobregat moved together with DPWH field personnel to personally visit identified lot owners convinced them to cooperate with government.

He laboriously explained, the national government will pay them for the portions of their properties that will be used.

Lobregat also enlightened them on the benefits that the projects will make of their lots.

Hence, the Lobregat initiative worked wonders, as most of the lot owners agreed to come to terms with government.

The President’s final decision on the proposed EO against endo, may surprisingly be announced this significant day - Labor Day.

The top 10 vacancies for local employment are: combat soldiers, production machine operator, mason, customer service representative, construction worker, carpenter, call center agent, PDEA agent, production or factory worker, and service crew.

Department of Justice acting Secretary Menardo Guevarra takes  after his boss and wields an iron fist in his turf. He asked undersecretaries and assistant secretaries of his predecessor Vitaliano Aguirre II to submit their courtesy resignation.

Guevarra issued the order “in the exigency of service and in order to give the undersigned a free hand to perform the mandate given to him by the President.”

When he assumed the post in the DoJ early last month, Guevarra vowed to address what he called as “huge image problem” in the department.

He lamented how the department has been “corroded inside” because of controversies that recently rocked it - including the dismissal of drug charges against confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinoza and the provisional coverage of pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim-Napoles in the witness protection program.  (By Jimmy Cabato)
