NINE(9) city councilors of ours are currently having their official travel granted by our city gov’t to attend their three(3)-day Philippine Councilors’ League(PCL)’s 25THAnnual Convention from June 6 to June 8 with its theme: “ ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT YARDSTICK OF GOOD GOVERNANCE,” in Metro Manila. Ten of them earlier expressed their intention to attend the said affair, but one later on dropped any plan to go with the group. So, their weekly regular session will be on June 19, as next Tuesday, June 12, happens to be a holiday, being our 120TH Independence Dayanniversary.

While there in Metro Manila, their side-trip, after their PCL convention, will be to go and have their observation visit of the anti-cyber crime laboratory in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Their quarterly PCL convention meeting comes every year, and each councilor allowed to travel for such an event has the least worry of having to spend his/her own pocket money.

In this travel alone to Metro Manila, each of these nine(9) councilors has to shell out P11,500 for both their registration and hotel accommodation. “This is apart from their fares each back and forth, Jun,” revealed one SP staff who showed me the copy of their official travel (again!).

The staff named the following now on official travel for their 25TH PCL Annual Convention, as follows: BG Guingona1V(Dist. 2), Cesar M. Jimenez (Dist. 1), Myra V. Abubakar (Dist. 1), Rommel Agan (Dist. 2), Rudy Lim(Dist. 1), AlJihan Edding (Dist. 2), Lit-Lit Macrohon (Dist. 1), Teodyver Arquiza (Dist. 2) and Bong Atilano(Dist. 1).

Councilor Boday Cabato (Dist. 1) cancelled his trip for the said event at the last minute, according to the same source.

EX-priest Monsi dela Cruz is seriously contemplating to return to the priesthood, but, at the same time, being lured by some sectors not to completely shut the door to politics. My good friend Monsi, however, made it clear, at this point in time, “Suporta yalang kita canila, hermano.”

When asked if he could comment on our Dist. 1 Cong. Celso Lobregat’s much-talked-about abstention vote on the BBL issue’s third and final reading in the Lower House, Monsi simply flashed his familiar grin. “Tu gayot hermano, ta tenta gayot tu conmigo,”Monso answered in jest, as we had together a brunch he offered me that day. Monsi is in his tiptop shape, these days. That’s all what I can say of Monsi, period. See you, next week, then. (By Jun Feliciano) (30)
