(Enlightenment—Passage of the Day).

Q.) WHAT’S THE NEW COMMANDMENT HANDED DOWN TO MANKIND IN THE NEW TESTAMENT?

A.) “ A NEW COMMANDMENT I GIVE UNTO YOU, THAT YE LOVE ONE ANOTHER; AS I HAVE LOVED YOU, THAT YE ALSO LOVE ONE ANOTHER.” (JOHN 13:34). Email: jayfeliciano2@yahoo.com

“Cin mancha, cin duda c Cong. Mannix Dalipe hinde’ bende cunel ciudad de Zamboanga (Sans stain, sans doubt, your Cong. MannixDalip will not sell ZC),” thus declared Dist. 2 Cong. Mannix Dalipe on Tuesday.

The young city solon from Brgy. Tetuan made his strong statement in the light of the open-ended BBL controversy that has all the more fanned out when the Cabatangan property issue flared up anew with our two known top archrival leaders  Mayor Beng Climaco-Salazar  and Dist. 1 Cong. Celso Lobregat squaring off for the nth time with credit-grabbing as its crux.

DALIPE whose steadfast stand for No on  BBL up to the last when it was, nonetheless, passed and approved by Congress just last May, earned him our people’s admiration, maintained that BBL is unconstitutional, hence, it’ll end up dead—unless, amended.

“As to the Cabatangan property, my stand is this, even if the BBL will not be passed, there’s this provision already in the ARMM Law that’s explicitly stated as to the manner of its acquisition allowed by law for the national gov’t to buy it and all the others outside the ARMM, and for our local gov’t unit which is our city gov’t of Zamboanga to ultimately buy and repossess it back. Even without the BBL, we can buy and repossess it, as it’s already provided in the ARMM law,” Dalipe reiterated.

Dalipe said instead of having this credit-grabbing ruckus, “Let’s all join hands and work for the betterment of ZC.”

HE said, “Mayor Beng made her representation, and even I…but, I don’t want to enter (into the picture), baca’ ay tene pa cosa abla tamen canaton. Actually, no doubt, the entire officialdom of ZC is trying to make representation (for the Cabatangan property issue). My message to all our officials, let’s all work together for the betterment of the city of Zbga. I think we’ll have ample time (for politics) when the 45-day campaign period begins (next year).”

He added, “On my part, I also have my projects. Now, I’m helping to decongest our traffic; address the problem of our schools, like put up more school buildings for our DepEd; support our local farmers and upgrade our Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) and our Sanitarium General Hospital in Brgy. Pasoblong.”

He punctuated this interview by nailing it with this fresh mantra (in the vernacular):

“Cin mancha, cin duda, c Congressman Mannix Dalipe hinde’ bende cunel ciudad de Zbga.” (By Jun Feliciano) (30)
