The Kabasalan Eagles Club’s merriment of its 1st year anniversary, together with the induction of added new members at the Zambo EcoZone, was indeed lavish and lively.

Members and guests partied all evening and several spent the rest of the night in the cozy rooms of the venue.

In his speech, WMR-3 Regional Governor Boboy Soriano and a known politician in the region, pitched for the announced candidacy of host president, Kuya Aldrin.

Aldrin Usman is gunning for a seat in the 2nd district of Zamboanga Sibugay.

While Soriano is del ZaNorte-based, his hometown Siocon is a neighboring town of Sibugay, where his influence is also felt.

Good luck again, Kuya Al.

As advanced here, it will be the local party from where a vacancy occurs which will nominate among its local party members the replacement of Councilor Myra Paz Valderrosa-Abubakar with the latter’s recent appointment as Tourism regional director.

In spite of this sketchy report hereunder, the choice is clear read on.

Over the weekend, it was reported that Lobregat met with the coalition here in order to discuss the matter.

But Lobregat said that he is not yet at liberty to announce what was agreed in that meeting.

A consensus… Hmmm. Well reported, that is.

But it’s only natural that in things like this, Lobregat as head of the local coalition consisting of the PDP, LDP and Nacionalista parties, calls the shot.

His word is command. It’s purely political. In a general perspective, even the courts could not rule on such decisions.

And reading another report, local Laban Chair, Coun. Mike Alavar said that the three contenders are Victor Liozo, Kaizer Olaso and Gerky Valesco.

But with this Lobregat hint, it is now clear who his or, say, the party’s choice is – that it is "somebody" who is through with his three consecutive terms.

Of the three, only one is a former councilor. Gets na?

Political a choice as it is, SS cannot but throw a salute.

The hidden fact is a secret no more. The political party of President Rodrigo Duterte is no longer Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

He now belongs to Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), the regional political party organized by his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Presidential spokesperson, Harry Roque, bared this in explaining his signing up with HNP.

Roque, along with Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, joined the party, which ousted Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez had once described as part of the opposition.

And Sara lambasted Alvarez for that remark. The rest is history.

Antics and entertainment won’t work in the explanation of important issues such as federalism, senators rued, as they individually hit Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson for her video discussing the matter.

Some more senators expressed their disapproval on Monday over the viral video clip of Uson and another blogger who danced to a lewd jingle in their discussion of the proposed shift to a federal form of government.

For her part Uson took to social media to deflect criticism that the video of herself and co-host Drew Olivar was in utter bad taste.

Dearie folks, out of curiosity, SS surfed the net for the Uson video. Very clearly, critics of it appear correct. The dance scene of Olivar can be gleaned as lewd. In coining “Pepedederalismo” in a jingle, Olivar while dancing to its beat repeatedly pointed to his groin while saying “pepe,” and also pointed to his breast when he chanted “dede.”

What would call it? (By Jimmy Cabato)
