Fend off well those dillydallying tactics

(Enlightenment—Passage of the Day)

Q.) HOW DO WE LOVE OUR ENEMIES? DO WE HAVE TO APPROACH TO THEM, KNEEL DOWN AND SAY,’I LOVE YOU’?

A.) NO. LISTEN TO THIS: “BUT I SAY UNTO YOU, LOVE YOUR ENEMIES, BLESS THEM THAT CURSE YOU, DO GOOD TO THEM THAT HATE YOU AND PRAY FOR THEM THAT DESPITEFULLY USE YOU AND PERSECUTE YOU.” (MATTHEW 5: 44) Email: jayfeliciano2@yahoo.com

As I write this column late, yesterday (Sept. 5)’s conduct of Zamcelco’s special General Assembly--in a bid to get the required approval of all its member-consumers in attendance, for its just recently-awarded Investment Management Contract or IMC, in short, to winning bidder Crown Investment Holdings--must have been over by now.

Its principal aim is for NEA to finally give its go-signal for Zamcelco to at-last put into work what they’ve been yearning for, and that’s to thoroughly rehabilitate its old-age  operational facilities into possibly a modern one through the help of the IMC.

To rewind back a bit, Zamcelco’s board headed by its president Omar Sahi, but minus at least two of its nine (9) members of the board of directors, awarded its IMC to Crown Investment Holdings last August 30, albeit Special Bids of Awards Committee (SBAC) postponing it anew to a later date, and that’d have been reset to Sept. 10, as sought for by two of its five participating bidders, namely, Nicolas Power Services and Filinvest. The other two of the total five bidders who joined anew in its rebidding process, were Aboitiz and Meralco.

The required approval of its member-consumers was said to be a must, hence, the need for Zamcelco’s top brass to call for its special General Assembly as time is of the essence. We cannot afford to further delay the dire need to implement the required IMC, or that’d mean fatal, in the sense that our too financially-ill power coop might no longer be capable to recover, as it’s too late a hero for IMC to come in to save it from the brink of collapse. And when its collapse happens, ZC will be reeling back to its dark age epoch when its electricity woes severely affected its multi-level sectors in our local society.

We don’t want those tormenting days to come back to us. So, let’s just rally behind its bold decision to pursue its plan for the needed IMC to save our ailing power coop from going bankrupt then embargoed by any of those independent power producers that Zamcelco owes too much its debts amounting to billions already. Let’s now walk our talk. Let it begin right now sans any bit of a delay. Ignore those dillydallying tactics supposedly the handiworks of those “unseen hands.” As whose “unseen hands” they suspect? The answer is as easy as eating an egg-pie. (30)
