Enlightenment—Passage of the Day)

Q.) DURING THE DAYS OF KING SOLOMON, THERE WAS ONE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT THAT PROVED BEYOND DOUBT THAT INDEED GOD GAVE HIM THE GIFT OF WISDOM IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE. WHAT WAS IT?

A.) IT WAS WHEN TWO MOTHERS CLAIMED THAT THE LIVING CHILD WAS THEIRS WHEN ANOTHER CHILD THAT BELONGED TO ONE MOTHER, AS WELL, WAS FOUND DEAD FOR THE CHILD DIED DUE TO SUFFOCATION AS SHE “OVERLAID IT.”

THEN THE ISSUE WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF KING SOLOMON, FOR HIM TO RESOLVE. HERE IS HOW THE KING RULED IT: “THE ONE SAITH, THIS IS MY SON THAT LIVETH, AND THY SON IS DEAD, AND THE OTHER SAITH, NAY, BUT THY SON IS THE DEAD, AND MY SON IS THE LIVING. AND THE KING SAID, BRING ME A SWORD, AND THEY BROUGHT A SWORD TO THE KING. AND THE KING SAID, DIVIDE THE LIVING CHILD IN TWO, AND GIVE HALF TO THE ONE, AND HALF TO THE OTHER. THEN SPOKE THE WOMAN WHOSE THE LIVING CHILD WAS UNTO THE KING, FOR HER BOWELS YEARNED UPON HER SON, AND SHE SAID, O MY LORD, GIVE HER THE LIVING CHILD, AND IN NO WISE SLAY IT. BUT THE OTHER SAID, LET IT BE NEITHER MINE NOR THINE, BUT DIVIDE IT. THEN THE KING ANSWERED AND SAID, GIVE HER THE LIVING CHILD, AND IN NO WISE SLAY IT: SHE IS THE MOTHER THEREOF.” (1 KING 3: 16; 23—27). Email: jayfeliciano2@yahoo.com

STILL hardened in our hearts? Still in evil ways?

Let’s do away with all of them, to let our Lord calm the storm for good, this time.

This I say as pockets of judgment are now in all corners of our globe. The latest of them was the strong quake that struck the island of Palu, Sulawesi in the neighboring country of Indonesia. As of the weekend, the Sept. 28 powerful earthquake with a 7.4 magnitude on its rich-tale scale that spawned a 10 feet tall wall of tsunami on Friday, killed 832 (as of this press time).

The figures might even rise as the days go by, reports emanating from the ground in Indonesia, disclosed.

In the Mediterranean, a powerful storm brought torrential rains to Southern Greece the following day, Sept. 29. Civil protection services in their area, remain on the alert across most parts of its country. In Athens, their roads were flooded and traffic was disrupted near its city center.

Early this September, Hurricane Florence battered North Carolina, USA, and killed a lot of their folks.  In China, deadly typhoon Mangkhut visited its continent this  September, and resulted to loss of many lives in their region.

Right in our own country, the Philippines, everybody by now must have known that the strongest typhoon that ever struck planet Earth was the super-typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) that killed a total of 6,310 people. The major disaster hit the country on Nov. 8, 2013. The second worst number of casualties that resulted to 6,000 people killed was the major quake that struck  Mindanao on August 17, 1976. ZC felt it too, and the tsunami effect reached several portions of our island villages, to include Sacol and our Eleven Islands (now christened, Once Islas). The third came in 1991 when on Nov. 5 same year, typhoon Uring lashed the country that resulted to 5,956 persons killed. The fourth biggest natural disaster was the 1990 Luzon quake that struck on July 16 that year which resulted to 2,412 lives perished. And the fifth largest natural disaster in terms of the number of people killed, was typhoon Pablo that ravaged the country on December 4,2012. It left 1,901 persons dead on its trail.

According to world experts of natural calamities these days, more of these big bangs loom to hit planet Earth in the near future. How can we stop them? No way!.. unless, we consider solving them in spiritual ways. Why? Because the problem that faces the world of ours today is spiritual, hence, the need to address it spiritual, as well. This is no laughing matter, please. As the Holy Bible always warns us all humankind, “AS THE DAYS OF NOE WERE BEFORE THE FLOOD THEY WERE EATING AND DRINKING, MARRYING AND GIVING IN MARRIAGE, UNTIL THE DAY NOE ENTERED INTO THE ARK, AND KNEW NOT UNTIL THE FLOOD CAME, AND TOOK THEM ALL AWAY; SO SHALL ALSO THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN BE. “ (Matthew 24: 37—39).
