Happy fiesta Nuestra Sra. la Virgen del Pilar to one all! Enjoy the day.

Our prediction yesterday of a total network-less day today was wrong, but still and all, I thank God for it is favorable to us. With the net on, SS rides still.

Apart from the hinted dark horse looming on the corner to join the vice mayoral should the field remain wide, one has emerged ahead - former Coun Elong Natividad.

While his entry has not yet been made public, SS personally overheard his set plan on a cp call to a mutual acquaintance in my presence yesterday. He even mentioned he will be running under the Inday Sara's Hugpong. Could mean a team up with the Dalipe faction.

Thus, the playing field is now filled at 11. Should three or even four back out, the number would still stand at 7 to 8.  Bases loaded still. Repeat, thru SS appraisals there could likely be a snooping fence-sitter, who is no stranger in politics, and may even surface to the level of a full-blooded dark horse.

Just a hunch, folks. But keep watch.

Former priest turned hotelier-politician, Monsi dela Cruz is now the Regional President of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), a newly created party that Comelec has already accredited.

PFP Regional Chairman Bienvenido Ebarle Jr. extended dela Cruz the appointment in a simple program held at the Lantaka Hotel.

Dela Cruz said the party has given him two Certificates of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) giving him time to decide until October 17, the last day of the filing of Certificate of Candidacy (COC).

Choice is between Congress and the city council. Surprisingly, no mention was made of vice mayorship. Anything, however, can happen along the way, folks.

Zamboangueño lawyer Manuelito Luna, newly-appointed commissioner of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) is in the city to spearhead a fact-finding inquiry into housing projects the National Housing Authority (NHA) constructed under the Zamboanga City Roadmap to Recovery and Reconstruction (Z3R) program.

The probe started yesterday, and instantly there are already radio reports today that Luna has cleared the city government of any liability.

Surprising! Even the Cong. Albee Benitez committee investigation hasn’t yet wound up. Luna’s done in a day.

Curiously, has Luna checked on the participation or was it a nonchalant participation of LIAC, the local body tasked to look into government housing projects under Mayor Climaco-Salazar?

Common sense tells us that angle says all.

There is yet one other angle - the confirmed collection of P4,500 per house occupants supposedly for electrical installations from out of the meager DSWD cash support of only P10,000, leaving them crumbs.

Goodness gracious! Electrical installations? There is one other pragmatic point. Electrical connections are normally part of any structure plan up for construction.

Granting without admitting there was none - where are the lights? And, too, where are the hundreds of millions of pesos from close to three thousand individuals rendered homeless due to the wishy-washy first three days handling of the Zamboanga siege?

Voila! City government cleared in a jiffy. If true - another wishy-washy probe handling.

Reelectionist Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III was the first to file his certificate of candidacy today.

Followed closely was singer Freddie Aguilar, whose song “Anak” became famous, is running for senator in the May 2019 midterm polls.

The duo must be firm believers of the dictum, “The early bird catches the first worm.”

The election count after the May elections next year stands witness thereto.

And earnestly awaited are entries of other senatoriables. Albee Benitez of the Rio London Falling bridge, Karlo Nograles and top Manila lawyer, Danny Roleda.

Bets with strong potentials all.    (By Jimmy Cabato)
