The sentiment of the faithful "Santo Subito" echoed as the Church discerned the cause of his canonization. Now, he will be raised to the Altar on the Feast of Divine Mercy and the faithful will call him "Blessed John Paul II." We will soon affirm what miracles effected by his intercession confirm, John Paul II is a Saint.
It is but appropriate to celebrate his beatification on the day of the Divine Mercy as he was an advocate of sister Faustina and Divine Mercy before he became a Pope. As he is the one who canonized her to Sainthood and gave us the Decree and plenary indulgence for The Divine Mercy.
Born as Karol Józef Wojtyla on May 18, 1920 and died on April 2, 2005, and with the second-longest documented pontificate, which lasted to 27 years next only to Pope Pius IX (1846–1878) who served for 31 years; Pope John Paul II is the only Slavic or Polish pope to date, and the first non-Italian Pope since Dutch Pope Adrian VI to serve the Catholicism.
John Paul II has been acclaimed as one of the most influential leaders of the 20th century. It is widely held that he was instrumental in ending communism in his native Poland and eventually all of Europe. Conversely, he denounced the excesses of capitalism. He was one of the most-travelled world leaders in history, visiting 129 countries during his pontificate.
Luckily, the Philippines being the biggest Catholic country in Asia was visited by the Pope twice. First was when he canonized St. Lorenzo Ruiz in 1981 and the last one was in 1995 during the World Youth Day Celebration in Manila where as far as I could remember, I was watching the Television during those times and seeing millions of people flocking along the streets of Metro Manila and Everyone was in tears. His Holiness then gave his blessings to our suffering country. The country has a very special place in his heart.
For the Filipino People, John Paul II has a sanctuary in every Filipino Catholic’s heart. Yes, he radiates God’s love and the country was most fortunate to have been visited by him. Thank you very much and that you may continue interceding for the Filipino people - that we may be one.
Now that World renowned terrorist, Osama Bin Laden is confirmed dead. The Americans and the whole world who became victim of the terrorism attack and bad doings of the Al Qaeda Terrorist Group has reason to celebrate along with the recently celebrated events that we have witnessed such as the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Princess Catherine as well as the Beatification of the Blessed John Paul II.
This close to show that there is still justice and that will tell those other terrorist to watch out for they are next in line. Commendable to this very good offensive move is the United States of America Security Forces with Pres. Barrack Obama being on top of it.
President Benigno Aquino ordered for the wage board groups to speed up the processes of the request for a wage increase of workers. This is in relation to the recently celebrated Labor Day.
It’s good to know how the president understands the common workers sentiments and that I salute you for being a People President. May you continue to represent the voice of the unheard.
On the other note, there should be proper consultation to the Companies as far as the amount of increase is concern. This will also affect our local employers as it will form big part in their cost of production. Let’s hope that each group will be working together to have a win-win solution.
