Yes, Jesus is coming again. It is the most certain event of the future. The classic passage is 1Thessalonians 4:13-18.
Christians sorrow when loved ones go home to glory, but not as much as others which have no hope. They have the assurance that the Lord Jesus will return, and when He does, those who sleep in Christ will come with Him, and we shall be reunited in resurrection bodies to be together forever and ever.
This is the hope: that someday they will come with Jesus and receive new resurrection bodies, and we shall be reunited NOT as disembodied spirits, but as HUMAN BEINGS redeemed-body as well as soul and spirit, to dwell in a new Heaven and on a literal earth forever. The blessed hope goes far beyond the present cessation from suffering enjoyed by the dead in Christ. It looks to the resurrection and the reunion of loved ones at Jesus’ feet when we shall have received our new bodies of glory like unto His glorious body.
To all who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, this glorious future day is an assured reality. The one condition is that you are a believer in Christ. The apostle Paul gives us the condition on which this hope is ours. This is what he says;” For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him (1Thessalonians 4:14)
At the coming of the Lord some will arise from the dead, and some will remain in the graves. You are either in Christ and will rise to meet the Lord when He comes, or you are in Sin and will Cry to the rocks and the mountain to cover you from the face of God, when Jesus comes. The only requirement to be in Christ and escape the wrath of God is to BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED AND ROSE AGAIN for you.
To believe that is to be saved. In Romans 10:9 we are told, “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your hear that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Some of you may imagine that all this are just mere opinions; but the apostle Paul adds, probably anticipating the fact that many would not believe this truth and it reads: “For this we say unto you BY THE WORD OF THE LORD, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep (1Thessalonians 4:15).
We are not dealing with man’s word of man’s opinions or interpretations, but the WORD OF THE LORD. You may do with my opinions what you will, but not so with the Word of the Lord. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Mathew 24:35).
He has said that he is coming again, and when He comes the dead IN CHRIST shall rise and all believers shall be changed and be caught up to meet the Lord, while all the rest remain to meet the wrath of God.
TO GOD BE ALL GLORY AND HONOR.
