Upheaval if Enrile is ousted

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord’s wrath. In the fire of his jealousy the whole earth will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live on the earth…” (Zephaniah 1:18, the Holy Bible).

“PEOPLE UNHOLY IN THE LAST DAYS”: Someone reacted to our item on “rapture” and the return of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, and said she has been hearing this for about 22 years already and yet nothing of the sort has happened. I guess that some people really fit the description given to them by the Bible in 2 Timothy 3:1-3.

What does 2 Timothy 3:1-3 say? “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God… Have nothing to do with such people…”

"BORN OF GOD” AND “BORN AGAIN”: At any rate, some men may have been “born again”, but in our group, “Anak ng Diyos, Kadugo Ni Kristo” (Children of God, Blood-kin of Christ), we call ourselves “born of God”, in accordance with John 1:13, and the original translation of John 3:3 and John 3:5 and John 3:7 of the Bible.

If all men are sinners and fell short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), then even if they are born again, they will still be born into sin. But, if men are “born of God” or “born from above”, and believe in the teachings in John 1:12 about those who are given the right to become “children of God”, as well as in the instructions in Ephesians 1:7 and Hebrews 9:14, among others, that it is the “blood” of Jesus that saved us from sin, they become new creation, one with Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17).

By the way, may I invite comments about what I found from other translations of the Bible, to the effect that, originally, the Bible, in John 3:3 and 3:7, did not contain the phrase “born again”, but “born of God” or “born from above”? DOUBLE STANDARD IN PAGCOR CASE: Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda, in defending Chairman Cristino Naguiat of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) against charges in the United States that he and his family received “payments and gifts” from Japanese gambling tycoon Kazuo Okada allegedly in consideration of obtaining a gaming license in the Philippines, said it was ok for Naguiat to have done so.
Lacierda, however, was deafeningly silent about former PAGCOR chief Efraim Genuino, who was accused of the same “payments and gifts” in a suit in Las Vegas, USA which a rival filed against Okada. Does this mean that Malacanang also sees nothing wrong with Genuino’s “payments and gifts”? If so, why did Lacierda not say so? Is Malacanang’s silence in the case of Genuino a sign that Genuino is to be treated differently from Naguiat?
But more importantly, is Lacierda saying that it is alright for a government official under the Aquino government to accept free accomodations and gifts from people having business with their offices? Is this not graft and corruption and, in some cases, even plunder depending on the amount of the gifts or accommodation?

UPHEAVAL IF ENRILE IS OUSTED: With Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile’s lambasting the inadequacies of the Articles of Impeachment during the trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, it is clear how he is going to decide when voting time comes. I am therefore expecting an upheaval in the Senate leadership, to remove him from his position, as damage control, to salvage whatever remains of the charges against Corona. But one this is sure: if Enrile is removed, a bigger upheaval is awaiting to happen!
