PNoy rebuffed by underlings

LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago…” (Isaiah 25:1, the Holy Bible).

PNOY BEING REBUFFED BY UNDERLINGS: There is something that does not fit about the disclosures by President Aquino and backed up later by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV that there are plots to oust the Chief Executive from office. How come even Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda is saying there is no such plot, virtually countermanding his boss in the process?

With Lacierda’s denials, and even those made by the AFP and the Philippine National Police, are we being told that  we should not believe the President and Trillanes on this issue? Are not his underlings rebuffing the President? Is that the way to treat the highest official of the land? Well, well, well…

HOT 40 DEGREES CELSIUS TEMPERATURE COMING: Weather forecasters are warning all of us that scorching heat will descend upon the country all the way up to May, and there seems to be a trend towards a temperature reading reaching as high up as 40 degrees Celsius. Is this what the Bible, in its Deuteronomy 24:23 is saying, “The LORD will strike you with… scorching heat and drought… until you perish…”?

ZAMBALES ELECTION VIOLENCE: I hope the murder and frustrated murder charges which supporters of losing Liberal Party congressional candidate Cherry Deloso Montalla filed against the Zambales police provincial director, Superintendent Francisco De Belen Santiago Jr. and his cousin, Zambales election chief lawyer Elaiza Sabile David, will be pursued by them.

Santiago, David, and many others were charged before the Zambales provincial prosecutor in connection with the killing of one Cesar Madoh who, together with other Montalla supporters, tried to bring various pieces of evidence showing election fraud in the special elections for the province’s second congressional district, which became vacant after the death of its incumbent, Rep. Antonio Diaz last year.

Every election, we have been hearing reports that police and election officials themselves have been acting as agents of incumbent officials or the rich and powerful candidates in their areas of jurisdiction, but no one so far have been held liable. This time, with the Madoh killing in Zambales, I hope the truth will finally come out.

GO, GO, GO, CORONA: The interview of Chief Justice Renato Corona with DZBB GMA radio last Wednesday, March 7, 2012, should settle the issue of his appearance before the impeachment court once and for all. He said he will testify, since he is sure he can explain why he should not be held guilty of the remaining three articles of impeachment which the House of Representatives filed against him. So, go, go, go, Corona!

MORE DEMOLITIONS UNDER PNOY: Is it not incongruous that, under President Aquino who has promised a better life for the poor in this country, demolitions of shanties of the poor have been going on unabated, as shown by the demolition last Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Silverio Compound, Paranaque City? It cannot be denied that there are more demolitions now than before Aquino came in. So, where is the promised better life for poor Filipinos, Mr. President?
