LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… Whoever says, `I know him,’ but does not do what he commands is a liar, and… all liars… will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death…” (1 John 2:4 and Revelation 21:8, the Holy Bible).
GEMS OF EVERYDAY LIVING: UP Diliman in Quezon City is fast becoming to be the seat, not only of academic freedom, but of sexual freedom as well. Why? It is no longer uncommon to see couples---man to woman, man to man, and woman to woman---locked not only in passionate embraces but even in fiery kisses, right on the sidewalks lining the campus, unmindful of the stares---some with envy, others with disdain---thrown at them.
I really do not know if these are UP students, or students from other universities, schools and colleges merely trysting in Diliman, but there seems to be a pervading licentiousness around the State University which allows almost everyone to do their thing, undisturbed by anyone. When I was at the UP in the 1970s, I had the (mis)fortune of not seeing this open libidinous displays of affection. Tsk!
HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONS “SIGNS OF THE TIMES”: Oh well, it seems to be the “signs of the times”. In Cagayan De Oro City, for instance, there is now no shame among men having sex with other men, as many of them at this point have even gone public in admitting their liaisons with their fellow male species, even labeling themselves for proper identification.
If I am to believe the Bible though, homosexual relations among men and women already existed even during ancient times, on account of man’s refusal to acknowledge and thank God, and that such “unnatural” relations were designated as God’s punishment resulting to eternal death and damnation.
Romans 1:26-27 says: “… Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men…” Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!
US TORNADOES TO KILL AND DESTROY: Americans are now being warned that more violent tornadoes are coming to their cities to wreck death and destruction yet unequalled in the past. US national weather forecasters are saying the tornadoes could be “high end, life-threatening” events. What should Americans do? Read the Bible, especially Matthew 7:24-27, to enable them to find a way to survive.
PACQUIAO REFUSED TO JOIN LP? Yes, Quezon Rep. Erin Tanada, Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, the world’s best pound for pound champion boxer, is not a member of the Liberal Party (LP), so he can join any other party he may fancy. But, would it not have been better for LP if Pacquiao joined it, instead of the PDP-Laban of Vice President Jejomar Binay? I was told Pacquiao was invited to become a member of the LP, but he refused to join it, “for obvious reasons”.
KONTRA GAPI ON EAST VISAYAS TOUR: The Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino (or Kontra-GaPi), which is the resident ethnic music and dance ensemble of the College of Arts and Letters, UP Diliman, is going on a road tour of Eastern Visayas (Region 8) on May 3-23, 2012, according to its band leader, Pedro “Edru” Abraham Jr.
In an announcement at the Internet e-group of the Sigma Rho Fraternity of the UP College of Law, Abraham said Kontra-GaPi will visit the Provinces of Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Samar, Eastern Samar and Southern Samar. Interested parties may call 09189167409 or 02-927-0581.
