Lobregat treats orphans, elderly, abandoned children

Sustaining his tradition, Congressman Celso Lobregat on Monday distributed food packs to the orphanage, home for the elderly, as well as to some abandoned children in the city as his post birthday celebration.

Lobregat was accompanied by his congressional staff and Councilor Myra Paz Valderrosa- Abubakar in sharing food packs to 302 recipients composed of 74 recipients at the Home for the Elderly in Logoy Diutay, Talon-Talon, 75 children at the Social Development Center, 29 recipients from the Women’s Crisis Center, 85 from the Reception and Study Center for Children, and 39 recipients at the Akay Kalinga shelter.

In his birthday message to the elderly in Talon-Talon, Lobregat recognized and lauded the sacrifices of the elders for their efforts in assuring the future of their children, even though they are often forgotten.

“Sharing the blessings that I received from the Creator to you and those who were abandoned children is a manifestation of my love to fellowmen and make other people happy, makes me happy in return,” Lobregat said.

Aside from giving them sumptuous food packs, the solon also initiated fun games for the children who enjoyed much the presence of the solon.

Lobregat continued to wish for good health for himself and his family for him to be able to deliver and carry on his job as a legislator in the halls of congress, protecting the best interest of ZamboangaCity. (Dexter Yap)
