Alleged drug dealer killed in shootout

An alleged illegal drug dealer was killed in a shootout with the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Police Station 7 at Sitio Salum, Barangay San Roque, this city. Two other suspects were arrested.

Chief Inspector Joseph Ortega, commander of Police Station 7, identified the dead suspect as Sarri Sali y Igasan, 45, married, a resident of the said place.

Arrested were the two accomplices of Sali identified as Joselito Sta. Maria y Galvez, 34, single, and Jay-Ar Cadelena y Mohammad, 27, married, both residents of the said barangay.

Ortega said, the authorities confiscated from Sali three heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu; several drug paraphernalia; acaliber .45 pistol; a magazine loaded with 5 live ammunition, and the P500 marked money bill.

The arrested suspects were brought to the police station for investigation and detention while the seized items were turned over to the Investigator-on-case SPO1 Mario Dela Llana.

The cadaver of the fatality was claimed by his relatives for proper burial.

Ortega said, the operation was in coordination with the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency 9 (PDEA9). (Eugene A. Lasprilla)
