Dalipe insists: I am PDP

Despite running and winning under the Nationalist Peoples Coalition (NPC) Party in the 2016 elections, District 2 Congressman Mannix Dalipe is insisting that he is a member of the ruling Partido Demokratikong Pilipino (PDP) of President Rodrigo Duterte.

In an interview over eMedia, Dalipe insisted that he is an official member of the said party, saying that the only reason why he ran under the NPC party in the last elections, was because his Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) from the PDP got lost.

He said, the CONA of the PDP which he allegedly personally requested from Manila and was delivered in Zamboanga City by a high ranking official of the PDP party, who he refused to name, did not reach him and ended-up in the hands of another candidate. He named the person who allegedly got the CONA intended for him as a certain Ladjamatli.

Dalipe explained that because of this, he immediately called the NPC to request for a CONA, signifying his intention to run under that party, and not anymore with the PDP. He added that because the high ranking officials of the NPC know him very well, they immediately issued a CONA for him, which he used in his official Certificate of Candidacy submitted to the Commission on Elections.

The neophyte Congressman further said in the interview, that after winning in the 2016 elections, he joined a mass oath-taking of PDP members before House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, at a hotel which he cannot remember, on a date which he also cannot remember.

However, Dalipe was not invited when the PDP conducted a mass-oath taking of new members, mostly barangay officials from districts one and twoof the city, at the Royce Convention Hall of the Grand Astoria Hotel.

No less than PDP Secretary General, House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez came to Zamboanga City to administer the oath to the new members. Aside from Congressman Celso Lobregat, who is now a member of the party, other Congress Representatives from Zamboanga Peninsula who are also members of the said party were invited to the event, but not Dalipe.

Despite this, Dalipe is insisting that he is an official member of the PDP and that he will check with the party headquarters why he was not invited to the said event. (JV)
