ZCWD sets 36 hours water interruption


As part of the Zamboanga City Water District’s (ZCWD) expansion project, ZCWD will impose a 36-hour water interruption from 9:00AM of July 19, 2017 to 8:00PM of July 20, 2017, for the interconnection of the injection points at Upper Calarian (8th IP), Suterville ((9Ath IP) and San Jose Gusu (9Bth IP) , Zamboanga City Water District

Affected areas with no water are Pamucutan, Talisayan, Cawit, Maasin, Sinunuc, Tulungatung, Malagutay, Upper Calarian, Lower Calarian, Cabatangan, San Roque, Suterville, Baliwasan Grande, Baliwasan Tabuk, San Jose Gusu, Baliwasan Seaside and Campo Islam, while areas in Baliwasan Chico, Ayala and Recodo will experience low pressure.

The interconnection of the injection points to the existing 250MM Ø CLCS pipeline, 400MMØ CLCS pipeline, 150MMØ CI pipeline and 200MMØ PVC and installation of the 700MMØ bypass appurtenances at the Pamucutan receiving point will take at most 36 hours.

Thus, customers in the affected areas are advised to store water in clean and sealed containers to prevent contamination, upon resumption of service, expect turbid (“malubog”) water as sediments in the residential house plumbing system are dislodged and to check plumbing system for possible leaks due to increased water pressure.

Water service will resume immediately upon completion of works and customers will expect a steady supply of water in the affected areas.
