The Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) and the police are now finalizing security plans for the forthcoming Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in October.

TFZ Commander, Col. Leonel Nicolas said, they will also coordinate with the local government unit to integrate its  security measure with the police and Task Force Zamboanga.

“Just like last year, we will also impose the non-carrying of backpacks, bladed weapons, weapons and the using of bull caps.” Nicolas said.

He added that telecommunication providers like PLDT, Smart and Globe will also be asked to shut-off their signal especially during the parade and street dance competitions.

Nicolas also expressed support to the City Council’s passage of a resolution calling for the relaxation of the national helmet law within the seven kilometre radius of the city.

“Ok naman po ito so the authorities will be able to monitor the motorists entering the city proper,” Nicolas said. (Nonong Santiago)
