A grade 1 pupil was reported missing and believed to have been forcibly snatched by her biological mother from her grandparents in Barangay Buenavista, this city, Thursday.

Sr. Inspector CrisantoYabo Jr., Police Station 2 Commander, said that Said Asan y Jaupak, 63, of Buenavista, reported to them that his 10-year-old granddaughter identified as Nur-Jian Asan y Asmalan, 10, went missing at about 4:00 in the afternoon of Thursday.

Yabo said that the complainant learned that Nur-Jian was forcibly taken from their residence in Buenavista by her mother, Neneng Asan y Asmalan, 36, a native of Basilan Province.

Police said the mother left her daughter in the custody of the complainant when she was still 8-months old.

Authorities are now trying to locate the child and the mother.

PO2 Miraim Estrellas, investigator-on-case, said that the case is still under investigation. (Eugene A. Lasprilla)
