Police arrest couple, seize P1.2 million worth of shabu

With the intensified crackdown against illegal drugs in Zamboanga City, the Tetuan Police Station early yesterday dawn arrested a notorious drug couple and confiscated some P1.2 million pesos worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation carried out by its anti-drug police operatives in Sitio, Bugok, Barangay Kasanyangan.

The apprehended couple were identified as Prince Valliant Garcia y Timbayan, 29 and Aiza Garcia y Adjimi, 28, residing in the mentioned barangay

Police Supt. Nonito Asdai, Tetuan Police Station Chief, led the buy-bust operation which was carried out at around 2:40 a.m. at Sitio Bugok, Kasanyangan that led to the successful arrest of the said couple.

Supt. Asdai said that the couple sold the drug items to an undercover police operative.

During their arrest, the police were also able to confiscate one medium size sachet of shabu, five big packs and a large size plastics all containing shabu.

The police also recovered the five pieces of P100 bill  which the undercover agent used as marked money.

Supt. Asdai and his men under the Special Drugs Enforcement Team (SDET) immediately took the apprehended couple and the seized drugs items to the Tetuan Police Station for further investigation.

The couple are now detained while the seized drug items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for qualitative and quantitative examination.

Asdai said that they are preparing the filing of necessary charges against the couple in court.– Remus Ong
