PDFPrintE-mail

The members of the Committee on Higher and Technic Education of the House of Representatives and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) are in Zamboanga City for the conduct of the evaluation on the present status of the Zamboanga City State Polytechnic College (ZCSPC) which seeks for its conversion into a university.

The group, headed by Committee Chairman, Congresswoman Anne Hofer of Zamboanga Sibugay Province and the author of the ZCSPC conversion bill  Congressman Celso Lobregat, are here to conduct site and facility inspection, documentary analysis, interview with key officials, informants, and other documentary tasks to determine if ZCSPC is ready to be converted into a university.

Recall, Lobregat filed House Bill 3929, an act converting the Zamboanga City State Polytechnic College into a State University, to be known as Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University. This was approved in the house commitee level pending compliance of the necessary requirements mandated by law.

The conversion of the ZCSPC into a university status would enhance its prime mission to provide effective and efficient services through advanced technological studies and researches for the tertiary students in Zamboanga City and the region. (Dexter Yap/PR)
