A 37-year-old man was hacked and seriously wounded by his own handicapped and elder brother at Barangay Lamisahan, Zamboanga City last Monday.

Police Station 3 Commander Chief Inspector Chester Natividad identified the victim as Joseph Limen y Ramos, 37, married, of Zone 2, Lamisahan.

He suffered hack wounds on his right hand, left arm and left shoulder and was rushed to Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) for medical treatment.

Natividad identified the elder brother as Rolando Limen y Ramos, 39, married, also residing on the same place.

Initial police report showed that at about 6:30 a.m., the brothers were in the middle of a heated discussion regarding the division of their lot property inherited from their parents when the suspect hacked the victim.

A police team conducted a follow-up investigation resulting to the arrest of the elder Limen. The cops brought him to the station for detention and further investigation.

Natividad told Zamboanga Today that a homicide case has already been readied should the victim decides to press charges.

However, the police was later informed that both were amenable for an amicable settlement. (Eugene A. Lasprilla)
