Gov’t troops arrest 2 NPA rebels

Two suspected members of the New People’s Army were arrested by military and police authorities in Pagadian City.

Lt. Gen. Carlito Galvez, Western Mindanao Command chief,  identified the suspected NPA rebels as Leonardo Decena Jacutin and Rosario Tabanao.

They were nabbed by the combined military and police teams at their residence in Barangay Balangasan, Pagadian City. Both rebels have pending warrant of arrest.

The arresting team recovered from their possession pistols, ammunitions, grenades, cellphones and ten pieces of identification cards.

According to Galvez, Jacutin is the logistics officer of the NPA ordnance division in Western Mindanao while Tabanao is a member of the executive committee in the region.

The Wesmincom chief said the suspects are actively involved in extortion activities in the area.

Jacutin is also linked to several killings and gun running activities in the region.

The two are now detained in the police detention cell pending further investigation and filing of charges in court. BDN
