Councilor Mike Alavar yesterday confirmed that President Rodrigo Duterte has already signed the appointment papers of San Roque Barangay Chairman Joselito Macrohon who will replace the vacant position left by former councilor Charlie Mariano in the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Alavar, chairman of the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP) said, he was informed by his contact in Malacanang that the president already signed Macrohon’s appointment papers.

“Ta espera pa gane came cay ya sabe yo del anti-ayer pa ya man sign el Presidente. Siguru on the way ya aquel este dia o manyana ba,” Alavar said.

The councilor said the president has so many pending appointments to be signed, similar to that of Macrohon, the reason why it has been delayed.

“Pero sure yo cay on transit ya aquel and by March, talli ya LitLit na consejo,” Alavar assured.

Earlier, Alavar disclosed the papers of Macrohon had passed the offices of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Comelec before it was sent to Malacañang.

Recall, Mariano had been booted out of the council after being convicted in a case involving moral turpitude filed against him by District I administration councilors and their running mates at the height of the election campaign in 2016.

When contacted, Macrohon said that he did not yet receive the appointment papers from Malacanang. “Nuay pa man yo recivi. Dehalo tu cay si ay recivi yo ay llama dayun yo contigo.” Macrohon said. (Elinor Fernandez)
