Man hacked dead in Bunguiao

A man was hacked to death in kilometer 18, Barangay Bunguiao, Zamboanga City  on Monday.

Police Station 3 Commander Chief Inspector Chester Natividad identified the fatality as Arnel Pantaleon y Alfaro, 38, single, also of the said place.

Natividad said the victim suffered severe hack wounds on the different parts of his body causing his instantaneous death.

The body of Arnel was brought to La Merced Memorial Homes for post mortem examination.

Police revealed that the victim’s brother, Alvin, 42, married, also of the said place, reported to the police that he found Arnel along the road of Bunguiao at about 4 p.m.  of Monday.

Initial police investigation showed that the victim left their residence at about 8:00 a.m. of Monday to deliver commercial goods to Sitio Duminatad, Barangay Malayal, Sibuco Municipality, Zamboanga del Norte (ZDN) Province.

When he was on his way back home at about 2:00 p.m. of Monday, the suspects blocked the vehicle of the victim and hacked him.

Recovered from the crime scene were the victim’s motorcycle loaded with assorted goods, personal belongings, a 21-inch long bolo and live ammunition of 5.56mm caliber.

Police identified the suspects as Martin, Marvin and Melvin, all family name Samonte. They were with two others unidentified accomplices.
