Barangay San Roque conducts free drug testing to drivers


Several pedicab and habal- habal drivers were found positive of shabu during the conduct of random drug testing in Barangay San Roque, this city.

San Roque Barangay Chair Joselito Macrohon disclosed that of the 128 habal -habal drivers who submitted themselves for drug test, five were found positive while 21 out of the 152 pedicab drivers have also been found positive of drugs.

Macrohon said the drug users will have to undergo rehabilitation for one month in a facility that the barangay has identified.

“Manda came canila trabaha na un agricultural area acabar dale pa allowance para puede sila ulvida con el droga,” Macrohon said.

He said they have also coordinated with other government agencies like the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) to provide training assistance to the drug offenders so they will be able to uplift their lives.

“Ta cre came cay puede kita man isolate canila para lejos sila na tentacion,” Macrohon added.

The barangay chair said the purpose of the program is to help his constituents forget drugs and be useful productive citizens in the community.
