527-M facilities in ZCMC to be completed this year - Celso


House of Representatives Committee on Public Works and Highways Chairman and Congressman Celso Lobregat announced yesterday that Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) will continue to receive beneficial infrastructure projects forming part of his continuing commitment to improve and modernize the public health facilities and make quality health services more accessible to the people of Zamboanga City.

This interest motivates the solon to make the delivery of adequate health services and facilities to the people since this is one of his priorities in public service. And it is also for the same reason that Lobregat has to move double time and be hands-on together with Department of Health (DOH) and ZCMC officials in pursuing health aspirations.

And it is for that matter and interests that ZCMC will get the additional budget of some ?527.5 million for such projects identified as priority for this year, by the public hospital management and with the intervention of Congressman Lobregat.

Congressman Lobregat revealed that some P250Million has been appropriated by the Department of Health (DOH) for the completion of New Central Block Tower Building ongoing construction inside ZCMC.

The Central Tower, Block 1 is a 5-storey building which will house the Departments of Surgery, Pediatrics, Surgical and Pediatrics ICU, Pediatrics Cancer Unit, Burnt Unit, Geriatrics Unit, 20 Private Rooms, Chapel and Conference Room.

Other Specialty Center Projects which were similarly funded for 2018 and are due for deliberation and implementation are: Development of Heart-Lung Center (P150Million) – Cathetization Laboratory, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Respiratory Intensive Care Unit, Pulmonary Rehabilitation; Development of Brain Center (P70Million) NeuroScience, Neurology Ward, Neurological Intensice Care Unit, Acute Stroke Unit, Neurophysiological Laboratory, Neurological OR and Behavioral Medicine, Out-Patient Department; Development of Oncology Center (P2Million)- Biohazard Cabinets; Development of Trauma Center (P20Million)- Completion of ER Equipment such as X-Ray and Ultrasound; Development of Reproductive Health Specialty Center (P15Million); Development of Neonatology Specialty Center (P9Million)-Expansion of NICU, Various Equipment like Ventilator; Development of Burn Treatment Specialty Center (P6,217Million)-Expansion of the existing burn center to become a Regional Burn Center and Provision of equipment; Development of Biomarine Poisoning and Toxicology Specialty Center (P3Million); Blood Services Facilities (P2,313Million) for a total of P527,530.000.
