Beng thanks PNP, TFZ, volunteers for peaceful Holy Week

Mayor Beng Climaco has highly commended the police and military forces other law enforcement and support units, force multipliers including government and non-government agencies and volunteers for showing dedication to duty as they rendered overtime service ensuring public safety during the observance of the Holy Week.

At the same time, the mayor said public support and cooperation contributed to the peaceful and solemn observance of the Holy Week in the city.

Climaco said the security forces and all supporting agencies and units including the force multipliers and volunteers did a great job in securing and monitoring religious activities not only at the Climaco park but in churches and other places of convergence.

She stressed that the close coordination of all agencies involved in the implementation of the operation plan Semana Santa was the main factor that led to the maintenance of peace and order starting from Holy Wednesday to Maundy Thursday during the Visita Iglesia to Holy Friday during the Santo Intierro to Black Saturday during the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday.

The chief executive has issued Executive Orders 362 and 363 providing guidelines and prohibitions and imposing a temporary traffic rerouting scheme on roads leading to the Climaco Freedom Park in Upper Pasonanca during the Holy Week. A command center spearheaded by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and a health response unit manned by physicians from the City Health Office were set up March 28 to March 31 to cater to the needs of devotees who flocked the Park for their Lenten rituals.
